would you continue taking the antibiotic? The only realy problem I have had with bicillin is the itchy skin and throat. Im waiting for my LLMD to call me back tonight. Its been the only med that has been of any help to me at all.

You might want to ask an allergist about desensitization.

You need medical guidance on this issue not peer support - too important to mess with. Mild allergies might stay that way if they are treated while continuing to use the offending agent. Or they might get worse quickly resulting in a bad scene. This scenario requires close supervision.

That said, I have used abx to which I have an allergy. I was on strong antihistimines taken prior to each dose and have used oral and/or iv steroids in concert with said drug. I have been able to stay on abx with this regimen and have a dramatic improvement in health despite allergies to the meds. Other times (penicillin, rocephin) we have switched to another drug because the allergy (and resulting asthma) was simply too severe.

Point taken-I agree. I spoke the the dr. He said no more penicllin shots for me. Im so discouraged right now with treatment that I am about to give up and move on with my life. Ive been on just about every antibiotic you can think of and have had reactions of some sort to almost all of them. I think it may be time to step back and take a break. I meet with my LLMD again next week. Thanks!
