I have been herxing like crazy since I started my new drug regimen in March.

One of the symptoms is joint pain -- in particular, my right knee which gave me pain way back when before I was diagnosed.

In a typical herx does this pain continue CONSTANTLY? I have not had a break in this knee pain and now all my joints are inflamed.

Does this sound like part of the program?

Hi Monica,

Sometimes the inflamation feeds on itself. Have you taken any breaks in your regimen? Sometimes a 3 day break can vastly improve your herxing situation.

Talk to your LLMD about it. Most are OK with taking short breaks to ease herxing.

Take care,

Corgilla

Yeast causes joint pain for me. Any chance you have that going on?

Just stopping by to say OUCH! I hope it lets up soon!

Can depend on the abx. Quinolones can cause severe joint and tendon pain/damage all by themselves. If you're on a quinolone I suggest you contact your doc immediately and consider backing off or changing the abx.

However, I've also had herx, not drug, reactions that include inflamed joints and aching muscles for several months at a go.

LLMDs have widely different views on herxing -- whether you should soldier on through or back off when the inflammation gets severe. Personally I've found it's better to back off at a certain point; massive inflammation isn't a great scenario. I've used OTC, prescription, and herbal anti inflammatories and they've helped.

No yeast troubles.

Don't know what Quinolones is. I'm on Ketek, Doryx and Plaquenil.

Last night woke up with stabbing pain in right elbow. Spirochetes have found a new place they like!
