Please help! I have a small child of one year old full of food allergies that requires special cooking and medicines so I don't have much time to read a lot about this disease. Besides, my mind seems to be blurred and I feel half asleep.
Elisa test results are about to come, and I'm almost sure I still got lyme (I had the bullseye this last June and was treated with 100mg Doxy for 14 days).
I'm having more symptoms every day (foggy vision, arthritic pain shifting, hard neck, difficulty to sleep, difficulty to think, depression is starting). I'm in Switzerland and drs here are 'conservative' with antibiotics. The dr. I'm seeing is not at all a specialist.
I'm confused in whether to suggest him to get intravenous antibiotics for a month then shift to doxy for some more time, or to try only ingesting antibiotics for the period the symptoms last + 1 month (I read somewhere that that could take months).
I'm alone here, no family around (my family lives so far away!) and my husband's family a 8 hour car drive from here. If I had no small child to mind, I would just take it easier, but I just can't. We're alone here, very few close friends as we're here for only 4 years.

First of all, your english is very good. Secondly, 100mg of doxy per-day for 14 days is certainly NOT enough to rid yourself of lyme.
300-600mg per-day is recommended by lyme doc's here in the USA. It should be given for 4-6 weeks. This is why your symptoms are returning, the disease was not eradicated.
I would do the IV until I felt normal again. Make sure the dosage is sufficient. After the IV I would do 4-6 weeks of orals.
May want to try doxy at first, then switch to zithromax, or ceftin.
In addition, I would have your baby tested for lyme. Food allergies are common with lyme patients. Is it possible you had lyme before the baby was born, passed it on to your child, and your symptoms didn't manifest until later ?

I called the dr. today, Saturday, my exam is still not ready, maybe Monday, maybe Tuesday, he won't give me any antibiotics until then. I start to feel a 'stabbing' pain on my chest skin, still wake up at 4 am, ...
I dont' think my daughter has lyme, I hope not. She's getting 'cured' slowly from many food allergies, 'naturally' no medicines. I got infected when she was almost 1.5 years old, not breastfeeding her anymore. Her Dad has eczema, so it might be from him that she's got that. Thanks for your concern.
I'll do my homework now on IV and the drugs you suggest to find out the right dosage.

There is a Lyme literate MD in Switzerland. I don' t have her details but I am sure someone on the Eurolyme forum would have it.

Also, I hope you realize that the ELISA has many false negatives. Check out the LLMD in Switzerland. You may feel less isolated with that kind of support. And there may be a support group there as well.
It is so hard to feel bad and have a young child dependent on you. I don't know how I did it. Mine are grown now. Good luck with your healing!

Selma - although the people here on Lymenet are great, I suggest you also join Eurolyme. Just type 'Yahoo Eurolyme' in Google and you'll find it easily. We have members there from all over Europe and someone may know of a good Lyme doctor for you in Switzerland. If you do join Eurolyme, I'll see you there!

BTW, have heard that the Dr. M in Switzerland is not currently accepting new patients. But maybe call the office and ask if they know of anyone else. Also, there is a german lyme group that might know something: http://www.lymenet.de
Too bad this person is not in Poland or Czech Republic or Hungary. They seem to be doing a better job with tickborne diseases.

I got a phone number for two drs. in Switzerland, one doestn' take new patients(Dr. Meer), other I don't know, he's still on vacation (Dr. Satz), and will come back next Monday. I'll call him then.
Eurolyme: yes, I entered there too a few days ago.
Site in Germany: yes, thanks, I'll take a better look tomorrow at it. Certainly, the treatment my dr. gave me initially was a wrong treatment.
I'm trying to understand why I feel so depressed with ups and downs in a matter of minutes, more down than up unfortunately.
Feel stabbing pains on my chest, and above my right eye, suppose these are also more lyme symptoms.

My thoughts are 100% turned to my daughter, of 1 year old. I can't take her off my head, 24/24 hours a day for the last week, since I really started suspecting I have lyme. Now it seems so obvious. Is that normal or I'm getting obssessed?

I think some of us do have obsessive/compulsive tendencies with Lyme. I did, but they have eased off with treatment. Your depression can also be a lyme symptom.
