I knew it! I knew it!

Just got back from seeing Dr. I (insurance) Infectious disease Lyme Literate Doctor today.

My husband tested positive for babs and equiv for lyme by MDL labs.

My new tests show everything negative.

Dr. I told my husband that he could have the Babs without having Lyme. In fact he told my husband that he didn't have Lyme. He rx'ed mepron and zith 3 weeks on 1 week off / for 2 months in a row. Wants to see my husband in 8 weeks.

Dr. I wants me to get off of Biaxin by taking 1 pill a day for 10 days then stop. He believes that 2 weeks I'll feel bad but then I'll feel better. I'm to call him if I don't feel better.

This is the same Doctor who wouldn't treat me w/ my positive MDL babs with a higher titer than what my husband has. Well we all know I also go to another LLMD who treats aggressively and gave me mepron. The wonderful Dr. S.

Well............. As you can guess. Bill and I will not be going back to Dr. I. I really like Dr. I and I know for a fact that he has helped many. But it feels a little too hit and miss. It sucks.

Dr. S is going to have us as patients. No more insurance. Well at least BCBS is still paying for the meds and I don't foresee a problem w/ that.

So that's my deal. Bill has Lyme and Babesia just like me. This really blows. He is so upbeat about it and very nonchalant. I hope he doesn't herx!!!!

It's bitter sweet. I took months of nagging to get him to the Doctor. And now he knows why he is soooooo tired.

This will bring new meaning to mepron buddies!!! Cuz we are going to both be taking it at the same time. 5 months so far for me and tomorrow he starts.

Hey Heather,

Sorry about your husband and thanks for the info on Doctor S.

Everything went well and he did all of my testing and didn't mind being questioned or me making suggestions which was a relief to me. I really like to use my rife machine and alternatives and he said we will work them all in.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you but I had to go to Florida for my grandmothers funeral (90 and very ill but had a wonderful life) the day after my appointment.

I'll talk to you soon and I hope your husband does well.

All My Best,
Scott

I did a similar treatment that the doc is giving your husband. the only difference was this. 3 cycles of 28 days on zith but only 21 of these with malarone/art. buy the 2nd round almost all babs symptoms gone. So far no babs related stuf gong on. this changed the way I was feeling the lyme stuff. it was like it was cleaner now. lol.

Hi Heather
I have Lyme and Babs

I started Mepron- Biaxin 6 weeks ago-
I could feel it in 3 days and
have mostily been getting better
each day so far

It is very Important to take
-Both with fatty food-
Also I think a large meal
is Important too-

When I eat a Large greasey
meal-I can feel the diffrence-
also the bad metal taste is stronger
and lasts all day--

I also drink some oilve oil
if the meal is not greasy enough

I eat 2 meals a day
a big meal at noon
and at midnight

I started both meds at the
same time so I am not sure
witch med is causeing
the metal taste
but I think its the Biaxin

Use a measuring spoon for mepron
The teaspoon I was using was way off-

The Mepron and Biaxin have
stop my night sweats completly-
Headaches Gone
Heart stuff better
I have been getting some sleep-
tingles mostly gone
stiff neck mostly gone
Joint pain stiffness Much better
Over all Much better

I have been very sick for 20 years
This combo has really helped me--

Now you have a good excuse to
eat a lot of Really Good
Greasy food--Jay--

Heather, BCBS will pay for the meds, even if they don't pay for the doctor?

Our medical bills are slowly mounting up....well, actually quickly adding up. It's frightening.

Sorry to hear about your husband but at least he will get the treatment he needs.

My 25 year old son was jsut diagnosed with the same, Lyme with babs last week. My daughter has been treated for Lyme for 1 year now. I can relate to how sad it is to get this diagnosis again. It put such a sick feeling in my gut to find out he to is suffering with this nightmare. He has been having musical and auditory halluciantions. He is on day 5 on Mepron and Zithromax. Thankfully my daughter's llmd started him on meds untill we get him in to see another llmd. WHat an GODSEND he is.

The metal tatse is from the Biaxin. This happened to my daughter when she took it. She did get use to it. Taking it at night helped.

Yes it is scary how these medical bills add up. I think I have Lyme to but can not even go there right now.

Good luck to all!!

Scott,
I'm so happy you like Dr. S. Sorry about your gramma. -

Trails,
I'm thrilled we are in your company. We'll swap war stories.

Johnlyme1,
Wow. I'm so glad that it worked for you. How long were you sick before treatment? My husband had a bullseye 1 year and 4 months ago.

Hey Jay,
Don't worry Bill and I have no problem eating fattening foods. Unfortuneatley neither of us is skinny or have had any of the anerexia symptoms that some get w/ babs.

Also I've been on biaxin since Jan of this year and the metal taste goes away. I think in month 6.

Boomerang,
I don't have the medical bills mounting. It's the friggin' credit cards. Since I don't work that much (part time) there just isn't enough money. We sqeek by every month.

We're stressing today becuase there is something wrong with Bills truck and we don't know how we are going to pay for it.

Fatigued,
Get the help you think you can't afford before it's too late. Shame on you. If you don't take care of your self then who is going to take care of your kids. Ask the LLMD for the family discount. PLEASE take care of your self.

Why is your son and duaghter going to 2 different LLMDs?

HI Heather,

My daughter sees Dr. Jones. My son is 25 so will be going to someone else. That is why we have 2 llmd.

You are right I need to get tested and treated but if the money isn't there my kids come first. I know I will be tested in the future.

Good luck with your husband. Let me know how he handles the meds.
