maybe try one of those weight gain shakes...just make sure it doesn't have too many grams of sugar.

I have the same problem with keeping my weight up too.I am 95-98lbs.

I was told to eat lots of butter. When I do drink milk I have whole milk or 1/2 and 1/2.

I know we are not supossed to eat bacon but I do.

When i eat sweet potatoes I use lots of sour cream.I cannot eat peppers. They are too acidic and make me sick.

I eat lots of oatmeal with lots of butter and cream.Lots of almonds.Macadamia nuts are high calorie but am afrid of the yeast issue. But they do put on the weight if ya eat alot of them.

When I meat I don't cut the fat off anymore.
My abx orals X three years take away my
appetite.I fight nausa all the time.

I take two prilosec in the morning on the days I do orals helps me the most.

I am going to try taking a ginger tab in the middle of dinner.

I am also trying super cridiacl omega cap but is too soon to tell,Also have begun digestive enzymes.

For a quick fix for nausa I chew a piece of peppermint gum and down some gaviscon.I have found RX carafate helpful. But you have to space away form ABX and probiotics.

The weight issue is a hard one for me.If I lose anymore weight I am afraid my doc will pull me off ABX.

Hope this helps. [Smile] p.s.RE: butter try to buy organic .

If you can handle dairy, yogurt is good. It is calming to my stomach.

Ginger tea is also calming and might help you get feeling up to eating.

Hope you get feeling better!

Can't, I was thinking about you? How are you doign today? Feeling any better?

I can't really help you with the weight issue. I've lost 25 pounds since starting abx in June. I have no appetite at all. I was indulging myself in my favorite ice cream, but one night almost immediately afterwards, my fingers and toes started going numb.

So much for that.

My weight loss does seem to have stabalized, though. As far as the nausea, my acupuncturist did something that would help curb it.

Hope this helps, and I hope you're feeling better!

I found ensure was good during the worst of my nausea.
Also ice cream (which doesn't smell cause it's frozen) seemed to be okay, and if you're doing mepron you need to take your meds with fat anyway!

nuts might also be low nausea food?

I found anything which smelled of cooked protein really made me nauseous.

I think I lived off eggs for a few months. My stomach was such a mess - everything went right through me. But I was getting dehydrated, so I forced myself to eat.

Products like Ensure and Gatorade are LOADED with sugar, and you could be adding to the yeast problem you most likely have. (My gut instinct tells me... call your LLMD and get some Diflucan - at least 2 weeks worth).

If you are experiencing things like leg cramps, you could be low on potassium and getting dehydrated. Propel is pretty good at restoring, and it's not too high in sugar.

You need protein, and lots of it. Steaks, burgers, chicken, turkey burgers, eggs and more eggs... Hard boiled are my favorite snack. Actually, when I was at my worst, a turkey burger or hard boiled eggs were two of the few things I could face.

Although dairy may seem like it would be calming, it's very hard to digest, interferes with abx, and many people are lactose intollerant and just don't know it.

Nuts pack on the calories - just stay away from Peanuts. Try raw almonds - loaded with magnesium. Eat as many as you can.

Some ginger along with Diflucan would probably help with nausea (I know it did for me when I found out about it). 30 days of Diflucan turned me into a new person.

Hope you feel better soon!! [Smile]

thanks everyone for your suggestions.

I cant drink milk at all....got terribly sick the last time i had 2 glasses of instant breakfast...now i cant look at anything that contains milk without getting terribly sick :-(

Julie~ question about the turkey burgers...do they have to be organic.....
Im eating eggs...one thing i can still eat...i find spinach is very soothing on my stomach as well....cant do peppers anymore. Im also eating fritos...not sure if i can eat those, but it was mentioned under snacks.... i bought some almond butter too...but it says it has some sugar in it...2g....i had some last nite and it didnt seem to affect me.

ive always had trouble gaining weight anyway...but not being able to eat bread and milk...its going to be so tough to gain.

last night I had black beans-Canned Progresso.Ingredients : Beans & salt

.Don't drain.Sprinkled some chesse on top and nuked them.
Scooped them up with some corn chips .It was yum yum and didn't upset my tummy. When on my ABX can't eat too many .Will give me gas.

When I crave starch I get a can of artichoke hearts .Saute in olive oil and garlic.Don't over cook. And don't eat the whole can. They are a little high on the veggie starch meter.

These are a couple of my favorite snacks. [lick]
