Hi everyone-I've been reading posts and am not sure if this is where I should be posting, but here I am!! I've had lyme for almost 20 years-misdiagnosed, of course, and have run the gamut of drs. and "conditions": fibro, chronic fatigue, depression, bipolar 2 disorder, lazy, crazy...you know the drill!! I was finally diagnosed and treated with iv antibiotics, but not long enough and although I was in a bit of remission, I was still taking antidepressants and thought I was a bit nutty and worthless. Last January I started with severe headaches of the same kind I had when treated with the ivs last time. After having lots of things checked out "just to make sure", I returned to my LLMD and have been treated with IV rocephin since last April, along with different kinds of oral antibiotics. I am happy to report that I am OFF all antidepressants and mood stabilizers and doing well. [Big Grin] I'm still struggling with headaches, although they have improved. Body pain is better, but my memory is shot and concentrating is something I used to be able to do...many years ago!! [confused] Is anyone here completely cured or is that just a pipedream of mine? I hope someone will read and reply to my long introduction. Forgive me if I'm out of line!!

Hi wildiris,

I am sorry you have been sick for 20 years, but glad you could get off all mood stabilizers/antidepressants and very happy to hear you have a LLMD.

I have been in treatment over fours years, I am still currently on Elavil, but I am so much better than I was before treatment. The turning point for me came when I was treated for Babesia.

I don't know if anyone is completely cured, but I know there are people who do get off abx. (antiboitics)
I hope your headaches get better, hang in there.

Welcome Wildiris, I'm sorry you've be ill for so long. I can't image 20 yrs of this because almost 6 yrs for me has been horrible.

Have you tried a Chiropractor for your headaches. A good chiro might be able to take care of that for you. If you've had a injury to the neck or head at anytime, maybe there is something that can help. I would ask around and make sure you do a chiro that someone you trust sees.

Like any doc, there are good ones and bad ones. It might take a visit for treatment every 3 months, but it would be worth it.

Take care, Pam

Good morning, Wild Iris. Nice to meet you! I am so sorry to hear you are still having headaches after a long course of treatment. Have you had an MRI or SPECT done in regard to your headaches?

I am in 7th month of treatment for neuroborreliosis with severe headaches as my chief complaint. I can finally say I am headache-free now for six weeks -- for the first time in a coupla years!!! Thought I would never get there. Can't say I'm 100% "present" in the brain / memory department, but maybe that'll come later. I like to think of it as a work in progress.

Are you on ABX right now? I can't tell from your post... Have you done a course of cyst-busters such as Flagyl? [Mad] I would keep working with my LLMD, as I believe that the headaches WILL eventually go away when you kill all the bacteria. We have posters on board here who suffered much longer than me with headaches, but finally got relief after long periods of treatment. It gave me hope as I thought mine would never let up.

Hang in there. Welcome to LymeNet!

Michelle

a BIG WELCOME to you here! You will learn a lot but it takes a lot of hours of reading.

Be sure to print off TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS which he constantly updates on 1st screen...top. Read most important stuff first and check off as there are MONTHS of reading here.

A big favor to ask, please EDIT/pencil icon and shorter your long paragraphs to 6-8 lines of text and DOUBLE space between them. We chronic, long-timers can not read or comprehend paragraphs like this...thanks so much for helping us, help you.

I was undx for 34 years.......
