Looking for a yeast symptom list.

I'm pretty sure flagyl has given me the yeasty beasties. Well that and all the sugary treats.

I'M A SUGAR ADDICT.

Itchy back & legs
Woozy
Light headed

These are some of my symptoms.

Flagyl wouldn't have given you yeast. Flagyl kills yeast (and fungus).

It's the treats. You have to give them up, or it will become worse, systemic, and you will spend a longer battle getting rid of yeast than Lyme.

Hi Heather and Fellow Sugar Addict. I am too. Last year when I was so sick the fear was enough to scare me into a none sugar diet and no alcohol.

Of course this year I am feeling quite a bit better although still symptomatic...but that dag on sugar has found its way back into my diet. Once I start with just a little - it is was hard to stop.

I am reading for the second time "The Sugar Addict's Total Recovery Program". It is by Kathleen DesMaisons. It is very interesting. She is the same woman who wrote "Potatoes not Prozac".

I definitely have sugar addiction in my family. So the book has been helping me a lot because it talks about the chemical makeup of neurotransmitters of those professed sugar addicts.

While I am reading the book now I don't plan on following its instructions completely until the holidays are over. [Wink]

Just thought I would share...Take care.

Flagyl doesn't treat yeast but can cause yeast problems. My son didn't have any yeast problems until he took Flagyl.

I wonder if flagyl targets certain strains of yeast but leaves others alone allowing the ones it doesn't treat to grow out of control...

OR

if a yeast is any yeast it kills it...anyone know?

I agree that Flagyl could promote yeast, likely not kill it.

I think anyone on ABX needs to be taking Nystatin or like preparation AND also take natural antifungals AND lots of probiotics AND if you eat anything more than very small amounts of sugar, all bets are off...

Flagyl is an anti protozoal. It kills protozoa parasites, and is also effective against C. difficile. It does not kill yeast. It contributes to killing the beneficial bacteria in your gut just like abx does, which thereby allows yeast overgrowth. You eat the sugar, you pay the price. That's the way it is.
