I saw this in another post that quinine is being used to treat lyme or is it Babesia? I had seen this once before too...In what form do you take quinine and in what dosage?

Also saw another's post (dmc?) that they can actually drink the tonic with quinine and that quiets the muscle spasms?

This makes me wonder because I craved tonic water with quinine as a child...as well suffered from severe "charlie horses" in my legs when sleeping...sometimes bad enough to wake me in my sleep.

Just wondering how long I have been dealing with these spirochetes...

Hi Lymed

I have talked to others that
drink quinine water-for Babs-

I think it is a good idea--

Babs is somewhat similar
to meleria (spelling)--
I lived in a border town
in texas and quinine water
was in most stores---

It tastes really bad--
When I was a kid I wondered
why so many stores carried
this bad tasting water--

Makes sence to me now after
reading up on meleria
and Babs--Jay--

Hi All

I am not 100% sure about this
but I dont think tonic water
and quinine water are the same
thing--

quinine water tastes Really Bad-
Much worse (stronger) than tonic water--

Most people that I have seen
try is spit it out imeditaly
including me--

I cant see anyone drinking except for
medical purposes--Jay--

I will call my folks in El Paso
and have them look for it--
I will keep you informed--Jay--

Tonic water contains quinine, it says so on the bottle. The dose in tonic water is very small yet is still effective. Some international travelers drink tonic water to prevent malaria. Some of the synthetic quinines have BAD side effects!

Plaquinil is synthetic quinine and is used for lyme and arthritis treatment.

I have always loved Gin and Tonics...always loved "Bitter Lemon" which I believe was quinine and tonic...would drink it by itself as a kid.

Thanks for the info...think it is time for me to try plaquinil for my treatment...

Hi Bob
you are correct--
Tonic water dose have quinine
in it

the quinine water that I
used to see in El Paso
would be right next to the
Tonic water at the store--

From what I remember the
-quinine water- was much stronger-
and taste Really Bad--
and did not have much bubbles-
It was from Mexico--
and just said Quinine water
on the bottle

Workers from across the border
were the only people that
bought it--

Quinine water tastes so bad
I can not see anyone drinking it
except for health reasons--

Im all for drinking tonic
water I bet it will help-
I am enjoying a cool glass
of it right now--Jay--
