Hi,
I wanted to know if clidamycin can treat Lyme or not.
i am taking clindamycin and quinine for babs.
But I fear that my lyme may gain grounds--- should I add in a lyme drug or will clindamycin maintian the lyme on its own?
Any thoughts?
Thank you

Hi Citrus,

I was prescribed IV Cleocin for Lyme and not Babs, so I suppose the answer is yes...it is used to treat lyme as well.

My best,
Melanie

Hi Melanie, thank you for the response.
Now Ican relax knowing that my lyme is kept under control by the clindamycin.
I wonder tho if it is only effective at high doses as with your IV ?
thanx again.

YES, and LLMD prescribed it...see website of LLMD below...course he also prescribed several other abx throughout the 3 years of treatment to get into remission.

It is a good Abx for Lyme, worth trying if nothing else seems to be working.
Oral or i.v. form is available.
