Based on what I read so far, the medical community in the past found that removing gall stones without removing gall bladder often saw the stones reappearing, because these people had gall bladders that are predispositioned to have stones. That's why the stone-only-removing surgery had been stopped.
But, in my case and many other Lyme patients, we got stones from Rocephin, not from stone-proning gall bladders. It makes sense to just remove the stones without cutting out the gall bladder.
Have anybody done this or even tried to convince their doctors to do it? What's your experience like? I really like to keep my gall bladder. Posted by lou (Member # 81) on :

I had my gullbladder out (stones from rocephin)
but I have heard some people have used natural remedies to alleivate their symptoms...
I'm assumming that you are having pain or some other medical issue from your gullbladder
because lots of people have stones and just live with them symtpom free...
They usually only reccomend surgery whe you are having some sort of problem from them.

Look up gall/liver flush. I did 2 of them on my off days of pulsing Rocephin. about 300 gall stones came out, they were mostly the green choestriol kind. I felt so much better after each flush. I did these flushes under the supervision of my LLMD.

The gallstones from Rocephin use are different from the "normal" gallstones. Rocephin gallstones are in fact precipitate from the rocephin drug.
Oftentimes, they will resolve in a couple of months with no intervention whatsoever, particularly if the symptoms of the gallstones are not particularly severe.
I've had gallstones a few times from Rocephin (with mild-moderate symptoms) as observed on U/S. A few months later, in all cases, the gallstones disolved on there own and the U/S was clear in a few months.

Never having had to deal with it, but having heard here from some people about the drug Actigall, I wanted to know more about it.
Be sure you scroll down to also read the side effects. Things like that scare me!
Rocephin causes a sort of sludge and a thickening of the walls of the gall bladder - and I am sure stones are involved if people are prone to producing those.
Somewhere I have a journal article about Rocephin and the effect on the gall bladder - I will try to find that.
It took me 18 months to convince the medical profession that my problem was my gallbladder even though they could not find stones.
I finally got a surgeon/friend to agree to take it out. He said I should write a book about gall bladder diseases. He took out my appendix at the same time. It was weird-looking (aren't they all?) and he said it had been leaking for years.

Just some lingo....
to look for abnormalities in the gallbladder the doctor will first order an ultrasound to look for stones, etc. If needed, a HIDA, pipida, CCK scan of the gallbladder done in Nuclear medicine will be done. The second test shows the ejection fraction of the gallbladder, and if you have sludging.
When I had my first one done, after rocephin use, I had no gallstones, but my scan showed 23% ejection fraction. They told me I needed my gallbladder out, but I did not do it. 6 months later, my gallbladder ejection fraction was 85% and has been normal ever since. I have done a series of liver flushes, all timed with the New Moon (cleansing time) .. eliminated many stones.
I was on Rocephin WITH actigal for many months.
I can see why you would want to hold on to your gall bladder. Herbal cleansing and flushing can be extremely effective (and necessary). I would work to cleanse and repair. Variations of these flushes have been in the old Merk manuals - medical info..

I guess not many people have tried to use surgery to get rid of stones only.
I've looked into the gall bladder flush - the one with apple juice, olive oil..etc. One article mentioned that the stones that are passed out from this flush are not stones from gall bladder, but the product of the chemical reaction of the flushing ingridients: olive oil, apple juice.. etc in our body.
The most scientific way to make sure the flush works is comparing ultrasound result before and after flush. Has anybody tried it and seen stones disappeared?

surgery and drugs are criminal in the case. it is EASY to remove the stones overnight. to remove the organ, or take drugs just does more harm (but keeps people in business). most of the stones are too soft to show up on the eqipment. i am glad this came up, i have been really wanting to share this here, it seems to be so important. i cannot figure out how olive oil and lemon juice would turn into solid green balls of cholesterol. I just did my second flush and got out tons of little stones. The flush before I got out over 50 large stones and many more smaller ones. Hulda Clarks technique works, seems VITAL in recovery if you are seriously ill. The liver is the filter for the entire body. Also we ALL have gall stones, sure certain drugs will make them worse, but the standard american diet is acidifying and poor enough we dont even need the drugs to be loaded down with stones. I am going to keep flushing until i get them all out even if it takes 20-30 as it does some. The results are dramatic and speak for themselves. Here are some from my first flush. best of luck
My son's gall bladder is a little sludgy from a year's worth of abx. From my research I've found two herbs that seem to help get things moving and clear the gall bladder.
Curcumin and Gold Coin Grass. We have not taken the Gold Coin Grass. Simply could not find enough info to judge it's efficacy.
However, we are taking the curcumin. Our doc said it should clean things out in a couple of months. We take it sparingly, 3-4 times per-week, or you could take it for a week and then off for a week.
Our doc also stated that if the sludginess is caused by abx that it will often correct itself in time.
