I just don't seem to ever herx intensely and am wondering if I still can have results. I have been on a year of orals, 5 months of rocephin and 2 months of zithromax & mepron. LLMD says it just takes time for neuro lyme, but I feel that at the very least I should be herxing.
Any thoughts???

hello,

i have neurolyme too. i herxed pretty bad on doxy 200mg....had bladder paralisis...and chest pressure/breathing problems.

im on cedax now and i dont seem to be herxing, before that i was put on flagyl for another infection and i didnt seem to herx on that either.

Most of my symptoms are in my bladder or chest....and they are consistant.

i know im not answering your question but wanted you to know that im not herxing much right now either.

I don't ever seem to herx and have definitely improved on abx.

Sometimes after a stressful(either good or bad stress)day I'll get achey or headachey and feel tired, but even that has improved.

There have been some points in my treatment when I did not herx at all..........

I just got better...

For a long time I have had herxes...

I actually got better FASTER when I did not herx...

but thats just my experience.

(maybe I just had less lyme to kill back then... I sure had less symptoms)

Best wishes [Smile]

I don't herx strongly. Our llmd thinks it might be related to being very active most of the time and drinking lots of water. Both help the body move the toxins out before building up and causing pain.

I'm mostly well too.

I do NOT herx badly when on herbs, alone, without abx. BUT when I was on abx too, I herxed and felt generally rotten most of the time.

Now I have been off of abx since February 21st and feel pretty good most of the time. Herxes are very small.

I herx like crazy, but I have a friend who has never herxed, not even once, and after 4 yrs. on ABX, she is almost well.

Not much herxing. Sometimes just one or two symtoms will flare up. I have been improving especially since changing to a new abx combination 2 weeks ago. Feel about 85% better at this point. Hoping to be off abx in the not too distant future.

"Has anyone not herxed heavily and still improved?"

I have never herxed or felt anything that even remotely resembles what people here call herxing.
I am perfectly healed, fine, symptomfree, healthy today.

There were better days than others during my treatment - which is a regular part of life. But I felt nothing negative that I could attribute to any of the medicines or therapies I did.

The reason, I feel sure, is ART testing before medicines to assess compatibility of my body. If it didn't test as good, I never took it. Same for certain supplements. If the body is not ready for it, why take it.

I also was always prepared to handle the die-off by preparing with mop-up agents, physical therapies that become more important than the next antibiotic.

The sequencing of treatments also is important.
Good ART helps a great deal with that.

Many people who feel bad and say they are herxing, are merely shifting toxins around in the body and cannot release them. They do not have the support materials, the mop-up meds on board to help prevent that. They are not doing support therapies, such as colonics and lymph drainage therapies.

Die-off caused by effective meds will cause toxins (dead proteins, heavy metals, chemicals, emotions) to be released that the body has to deal with.

If we don't, we literally feel like dieing all over again and again.

It becomes a very unpleasant merry-go-round that never seems to end. Die-off. Toxin release. Reabsorption and redistribution in the body, causing other problems because they settle in other body niches causing different symptoms, different problems.

Think about it!

Take care.

Since my LLMD switched me to tinidaloze and amoxicillan I feel better. The biaxin and doxy was wearing me down. I'm finally eating again. Pain is even better.

In 2001 I herxed really bad ONCE and then got steadily better and better for 8 months until I was alomst sx free.

But I have relapsed now.

I cant STOP herxing now. I am in a lot of pain most of the time. It is truly bizarre.

I think you can get better and better without herxing. Lucky duck.

I love all your responses to my question. It has made me feel so so much better about my treatment & healing. And although I haven't seen as much improvement as I was hoping for, I still remain hopeful. Thank you Lyme buddies!

I agree with you GiGi, however you forgot to mention that you didn't hang in there on LONG TERM ABX like so many do on this list. But, rather embarked on a more diverse treatment which included herbs and other alternatives to abx.

I think most want to feel bad so they KNOW they are sick.

THEY are a lot tougher than you and I are. I can't stand to even THINK of having a herx. IF a little of my arthritis or vision blur happens to creep in on any given day, after feeling good for several days, I almost panic. Thinking I am getting sick again.

Also people, in general, are like sheep or goats. They either just follow the leader in lieu of thinking for themselves; OR go off on their own tangent JUST to be different.

I have done both, and also have decided to do neither. But rather, take the bull by the horns and really try to do something about this thing we hate some much, or so we say.

Take care,
jim [Cool]

Hi,

I find that after I jump for even 5 to 10 minutes on my rebounder that I feel a little better. It is supposed to be good with lymph drainage too. Just a thought. I know not everyone can afford a rebounder or for that matter have the energy enough because they feel so bad.

I jump even when I am in a fair amount of pain and tired and I think it helps me. I'm gong to try and do it more often.

Just something to think about. [Smile]

not much herxing here except for short periods of fatigue or insomnia. (with an occasional really tough week every 3 months or so)

however during periods of most improvement herxes were little no nonexistent.
