My son just got back from New Orleans and he was covered in bug bites. He was not sure what they were. He assumed they were gnats, now he is concerend they are chiggers (?). Do other bugs carry Bb? Or some other nasty that I should be concerned about?

Did he stay in a hotel? There was a segment on 60 Minutes or Nightline on Sunday night that was about bedbugs, and the recurrence of problems in hotels and dormitories lately. It was totally disgusting!

No he was on a misson trip staying at churches. He was near the water.

Chris, I also saw the segment on 60 min about bed bugs. If your son had no bites before bed, and then woke up with them . . . chances are it was bed bugs. According to the report, bed bugs don't spread any illnesses. Judy

If in fact these were bed bugs, do I need to worry about lyme or lyme like illness?
