I am currently taking 400 mg/day doxy with mepron/zith to treat both Bb and babesia at the same time. However, I ran across the following link and am a bit concern about it:
What other drugs will affect atovaquone? * Before taking atovaquone, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane, others) rifabutin (Mycobutin) tetracycline (Sumycin, Panmycin, others); or metoclopramide (Reglan). * You may not be able to take atovaquone, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you are taking any of the medicines listed above. * Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with atovaquone. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines
Can any share some light on this? For instance, will this reduce the concentration of Mepron?
Thanks!

My LLMD does not use doxy with Atovaquone ... certainly it is not a combo he has even put me on, he uses macrolide antibiotics with Mepron usually.

hey everyone,
This is important.
I think I found what I'm looking for. So for all those taking Tetra/Doxy with Mepron including myself, please take a look at these links. Apparently, atovaquone levels are reduced by 40% with Tetra/Doxy.
