I am asking this question for a friend who does not have computer access.

After approx 6 months of oral ABX and finding a lot of improvement in energy and clarity of mind, she went on IV ABX.

After 5 weeks she stopped because she was so tired and felt she had lost what she had gained.

Anyone else have this experience?

Thanks,

Happygranny

I can only relate to the tiredness. I would be extremely tired after infusing. (for hours)

This lasted a few weeks and I would get less tired each week after. I gained ground with the IV as orals didn't seem to do much for me.

Sorry your friend feels like she lost what she gained.

I just started a new round of IV abx and I am finding myself more tired, but I am also finding that I am sleeping much better than before. I am thrilled to be exhausted and glad to have the opportunity to sleep again.

I don't know your friend's reason for switching to Iv's when there was still imporvement on oral, but I imagine a dr made that referral for a good reason.

IV abx can get deeper to hidden ketes and problem area, and therefore can cause more herxing , healing and fatigue.

I hope your friend gets well and is patient and has a well educated supportive dr.

I have been on IV Rocephin for 3+ months, and agree with your friend. I have not only been exhausted, but also feel like I'm backsliding.
In the last couple of days I have also noticed
new symptoms, but the extreme fatigue seems to be fading.

Everyone seems to be different in how they react.
It is my understanding that alot of people get worse before they get better, some for a very long time.

Have your friend check with her LLMD.

Mine told me 3 weeks ago that my immune system is attacking itself, and we may stop IV's and work on boosting the immune system. When I told him how tired I was, he said it was allergy season, and even he was exhausted. Not sure I'm with him on that one, but now all the pollens gone, and I am less tired!

Good Luck!
Jill
