Hello,

This was noted in a recent MRI I had done of the abdomen. Does anyone know of some natural means to reduce gall bladder sludge?

Thanks,

anneke

Read my comments from this recent post.

Would also take ox bile supplements.

Dehydration could also potentially be a contributing factor in my opinion.

Anneke,
I'm not sure if this helps or is do-able.

Years ago, like 25, I was seing a gastro Dr and all my gallbladder ultrasound came out fine but he felt I had sludge.

He had me drink 6 glasses of papaya juice a day for a couple of weeks. He insisted he dissolved his own gallstones this way.

I don't know if it's true but seemed to have helped me at the time.

I don't know if you can drink papaya juice, I imagine that's a whole load of sugar. It's just a thought.

I'm sure the are other and better ways but thought I'd mention it because it seemed so bizarre at the time. They sell chewable papaya tablets as a digestive aid. I'm not sure if they would be at all helpful.

Green apples!!! They dissolved mine & my gallbladder test showed it is functioning high above average, even after developing sludge & stones on rocephin.

They are a good source of malic acid, which dissolves the stones. And, they don't contain too much sugar, & are allowed on a no-yeast diet.

hey Anneke

There is a test I am going to have on monday called a HIDA study. Where they can see if your GB is slugging.

Apparently you can have a diseased GB from lyme
without stones, which can cause it to slugg. My ultra sound showed no stones.

I am no expert but this is what I have heard this week from my doc.

Do you have nausea or pain in the upper right chest area?

If you do a search here under GB there are several posts on natural cleanses. But you have to be careful because if you do a cleanse and you have a LG stone invloved it could get lodged and cause problems.

Take care and hope you feel better soon

I've done this liver flush many times, although it's quite taxing on my system since being sick, it still has been great for getting sludge and liver/gall stones flushed right out. It's pretty amazing.

My teenager ended up with a sludgy gall bladder from all the abx. We used curcumin [one capsule every other day] to clear it up in about 6 weeks.

I too have had severe pain but no stones. the only thing that you can take on a daily basis is Standard Process's Betafood and choline. I have had no attacks in 1 year and internist is shocked. If I stopped it gets sluggish again. I would rather take this than have it out since there is no guarantee that that will take care of the pain.I read somewhere that Lyme depletes the choline. Both of these products thins bile and choline eats up fat in food. Beets is what is in the Betafood and that desolves the sludge and stones. My doc put me on a three day green apple fast with apples and organic juice and beets and it went away.
God Bless

Hey sk8ter

What is "standard process' beta food"? Is this a supplument made by someone
or is this a food group you where talking about?

Could you please go into a little more detail about your apple and beet 3 day diet?

Thanks [Smile]

Standard Process is the name of a supplement company. Beta Food is the name of a particular product.

Hubby bought this once from a chiropractor -- not sure if the company sells to the public directly or not.
