Does anyone else here get night sweats. It wakes me out of a dead sleep and if I even open my eyes for a second the sweating starts! Like I'm on fire. This is getting worse over the last few months. I'm on amoxicillan, probenicin and tini.

Thanks

Cindy

Sweats are a key symptom of Babesia, a common co-infection associated with Lyme.

Hope this helps:)

This is a description of my night sweats. I wake up and as soon as I become conscious, I start to tingle and burn all over and then the water works start. I will be drenched in seconds. Also my legs will get drenching wet when in bed whether awake or asleep. Does this sound like the babesia sweats? I also will get pressure headaches, also babs?

I don't have any co-infections, but got night sweats bad during my menopause. They could do a blood test to see if you have started this. Best wishes; I hated waking up wet/sheets drenched.

Wow! I thought I was the only one with this. Thanks for your replies and yes last summer I tested low in estrogen and progesterone but I didn't have these drenching night sweats. Wouldn't I also have hot flashes during the day?. It only happens at night.

Hormonal issues could be a possibility. I know Dr. M. had mentioned mepron (I think) and I wonder if my insurance company would pay for that med. Dr. said 6 weeks to treat babs.

This morning my hair was total frizz!! from the sweat

Pressure headaches, night sweats, chest pain, labored breathing are all common babesia signs.

Normal treatment involves zithromax/mepron/artemisinin. You can't rid yourself of lyme until babs is treated.

Night sweats are definitely a sign of Lyme. In women they are more intense during the menses, when the immune system is at a low point. Marylynn Barkley PhD MD of UC Davis has done a study of night sweats in women with Lyme and can explain it in great detail. I'm not sure if she has published anything on it.

I slippery sweat at night. I have only tested positive for Lyme though.

And oddly, I rarely sweat during the day.

I have nightsweats. I have done in total 13 months of Atovaquone and I STILL have nightsweats.

Therefore, my LLMD said my cause is probably not Babesia and we have cut out the Atovaquone.

Nightsweats can be caused 'just' by Lyme or by a number of other conditions, like sleep apnea (which I am hopefullygoing to get checked for as I do think I have that).

babs!

The test for the co-infections are just as unreliable as those for lyme.

There are something like 17 different species of babs and only tests for 2 of them which I have read many places tend to be account for alot of false negatives.

Read Scotts notes on his webb site and most LLMD's at the conferences agree with this .Click on conefrences on the right hand side:

On a personal note,it wasn't untill I treated for babs that my sweats stopped.

Hi All

Drenching Night sweats are a VERY Good
indicator for Babs--
Almost- For Sure --

For most folks the symptoms get
Much worse at night -usually about 2am--
and last till 6 to 8am- like clock work-

My ruff guess is that about Half the people
on LN have babs also--

Babs symptoms--
Night sweats -headaches-
muscle stiffness- tight muscles
Cracky joint pain--
stiff neck- tendon pain-
Tingles-burning -numbness(hands feet ect)
Chills- shakes-jerking -Twitches
Crazy heart beat-chest pain -
Brain fog- memory -speech problems--
Insomina--ear ringing -BO
skin crawlies-
Shortness of breath--
Low body Temp-93 to 96ish -

Dark pee(Redish brown)- constapation

Babs also causes a mild skin rash that
has small bumps that look similar to
prickley heat but less bumps and
and spread out-- Itches--
some hert most dont--

Also if you scratch the bumps some
cause a nerve reaction where you
scratch a bump on you leg and feel
it on you back--ect

The rash is mild and is overlooked
by most folks--can itch like Hello tho-

Feels like you have bugs crawling
on your skin-

Babs is a Very Tuff bug--
It takes a Very long time to
kill it off --
Count on 8 months minimum
proberily longer--

Mepron-Malron -Bactrim DS -Zithromax-
and Artemisinin are used--

Artemisinin is Very Important to take--
with what ever med you take
Helps stop relaps --

Google -WHO Artemisinin --

Realize that your symptoms will
very and change threw time--
There is usually a cycling of symptom
intencenty tho --about 3 weeks or so--

Bactrim DS works Very good for me--
and its Way cheaper than Mepron--

Mepron is Very good and has fewer
side effects for most--

What every you take -dont miss
any doses --this is Improtant--

You first shot is by far your Best shot-
so dont waste it--

You have to treat coinfections at
the same time as Lyme of they just
fill in where the lyme was--

Most docks will treat just lyme
till your germ load gets low enough
so that you can handle the herx from
treating both--

Tonic Water works perty good in
hammering babs also--
(Has a small Amount of Quinine in it)
You can get it at the store --
by the liquor mixers--

I drink 1 to 3 liters of it a day--
Tastes Horriable -but I have drank so
much of it Im starting to like it-LOL

Drink some and see if you herx--I do-

Dont count on test results --
perty much useless--Jay--

Thank you everyone and Jay for the details post of babs.

My LLMD phoned me today and wants me to start mepron for babs. Said drenching night sweats like mine are a good indication for babesia. Also have very stiff sore muscles. I also have those little red prickly marks on my trunk.

I will phone my insurance company to see if they cover such an expensive med.

Tonic Water? Isn't that a mix for drinks.
