Ok, so I'm confused(my normal state of mind recently LOL!).
I got bit in June 05 and had a rash with bulls eye so here's the question.
I'm allergic to all kinds of bugs including ants. Got bit by an asp (sort of like a wasp) and had to go to ER, red streaks down the neck and swelling. it was awful.
Igenex was IND with one plus at 39 and 41. everything else all normal, no coinfections, nothing.
one doc said it was an allergic reaction but one llmd did say LLMD but said i had very low response.
Any remote, faintest possibility it might not be lyme?
you know hope springs eternal..........

Hello, I am very new to lyme disease and am hoping to kick it myself the first time out with 6 weeks of antibiotics.
I have read a lot the past 6 weeks.And from reading about the test the bands 41 are postive for lyme and maybe Bartonella.So is band 39.
Also if you had been on antibiotics when you first got bit from what I read it can even show up years later as a negative even though you still have lyme.
Some people think they have it beat and a couple of years later it hits them full force out ot nowhere.
I would thing any POSTIVE test means just that, and you need treatment.Have you had the Elisa or Western BLot done?
Have you been feeling sick?I hate to say this but I would say you need to find a new doctor if the one you are going to doesn't think you need medication.
Go to your nearest library and read up on this Wicked disease.It is not somthing to take a chance with. There are around 100 diffrent strains of disease they think tics carry.They do not have names for them all.They do know of 22.Bartonella can be contacted by a horsefly and the scrtatch of an infected cat.I read this so possibly it is wrong.So who knows what an ant could carry?
Most people do not even get an EM. Maybe you got bitten by a tic some other time and never realized it.I am from Missouri and the type of lone star tics here when you get bitten ( When you get and EM ) does not usually show up as lyme blood work.It is a diffrent and newer strain although it is lyme disease.

Wouldn't it be nice if this was a black or white issue? It would sure save thousands of people thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of misery.
But...we know it isn't.
Lyme is first and formost a clinical diagnosis- only SOMETIMES confirmed with testing.
You need to really look at your history to tick exposure, your progression of symptoms, and your reaction to treatment.
These three things will help to paint a pretty good clinical picture of what may be happening with your health.
FYI- "normally", a Bullseye rash is 100% diagnostic of LD.
But then, who among us is normal?

In my opinion you have lyme! 39 is specific to Bb period. You were exposed to the lyme bacteria, if you want to wait until you get really sick before you get treatment thats your choice. I wouldn't.
Denial is also very difficult for most of us. My sister told me a year before I got tested that I had lyme but I wouldn't listen to her. I didn't want to believe I had it. I did alot of crying and praying, then accepting. I'm glad I finally listened to her and got treatment, I wouldn't be getting better if I had ignored her and the test results.
