Hello Everyone, I was told by a dermatalogist a few years back I might have a systemic yeast infection because of the rash on my back and arms.
I have never had thrush,and rarely a reg yeast infection so I found that hard to believe.
After reading about how easy it is to get from abx I was looking on the net and found this site where you supposedly can test yourself with your saliva.Here is the url www.stopyeast.com/saliva.html
You spit in a glass of water first thing in the morning and if you see strings in it you do have it.Thought this might be helpful.Does anyone know if there is truth to this?

Yes, this has been brought up here before. Personally, I haven't tried it, but many claim that it works.

It worked for me. When I first suspected systemic yeast, I spit in the glass and it grew legs and the water became cloudy with sediment looking stuff.
I thought "yeah, I bet everyone's spit does this" so I had my husband and daughter try it. Their water remained clear and no legs grew on their spit.
I started diflucan which caused a horrific herx. I began a vegan diet and within 2 mths my spit was clear too.
I have now had my suspicion confirmed by a doctor through a blood test. Even though my spit had cleared up, yeast was still in my blood. Dr gave me an IV of dioxychlor which again caused a horrible herx in my joints. He backed off and started IVs of glutathione and an L-something to support my liver. This in addition to liver pills.
I'm also high in metals and he feels we have to clear them out first before we attempt the yeast again. Just too much toxicity in my system.

I tried it and within seconds I could tell It was postive.I am now hoping it is because I am on doxy for lyme?
If not I guess I will have my doc test me for yeast also when they recheck for coinfections.
I Really appreaciate your reply.If I have a hard time getting it cleared up I can maybe get a direction on which meds to take. Thanks again,

I tryed this test at home. I was fairly certain at the time I had thrush. Personally I wouldn't count on it.

this test is not accurate. and for that matter, no yeast tests are really accurate. blood tests, stool tests, etc. - all unreliable.
it is sorta the same as a lyme. a negative test does not mean you don't have a yeast problem.

Its the never ending merry-go- round i am on now.
Yeast or lyme, lyme or yeast. Take abx feel worse is it yeast.
