I have the crawling/itching inside my ears almost everyday. I have not seen an LLMD yet so I have not been treated other than on my own.

Itching can be helped by taking a q tip dipping it in alchohol and squeezing it out and carefully cleaning ears with it.

I know... You are not suppose to clean your ears with q tips. This really healps the
itching.

Or you can go to your pharmacy and buy a bottle of swimmers ear.It is an alchohol and water product... follow directions works great [Smile] it usually is a fungus that causes your ears to itch.To mutch moisture from swimming or showers ( anyway that is what my girls doc said)

Not ment for medical advice just what had really helped us [Big Grin]

morgellons.org

Have you checked it out?

You live in the 2nd highest reported state.

The site used to read that something like 94-96% of patients suffering from the symptoms tested positive for lyme.

In my opinion they took lyme out since it gets no respect and they want the disease investigated by the CDC.

The site is what made me test the whole family for lyme because we started with that first.

PM me if you need more info.

I hope it is not what you have,
lyme x 9

Yes, I have this constantly. Does it have anything to do with Lyme? Also, I have a type of vertigo, same family?

swimmer's ear has what to do with lyme?

Only recently (since starting treatment) I have been getting a terrible itch in my ears! Crawly -- yes, I guess it is.

I'm on daily diflucan and now also massive probiotics, so I don't think it is yeast....I'm not showing any other yeast symptoms at the moment, anyways.

I'm guessing the itchy ears is yet another bizarre neuro manifestation of this lovely disease. Hadn't really considered it a lyme thing until now... I'm just SO used to weird symptoms coming and going after having lyme for at least 18 years... sheesh!

I'm getting itchy ears also especially after lying down. Also my face feels itchy and like someone dragged a piece of silk across my face.

My ears seem to be the favorite target of this disese.

The cranial nerves to your face pass very close to your ear canal. That's probably what's causing the crawling feeling. It's not just a feeling. Probably the underlying muscles and stuff are really crawling. [Eek!]

I agree with lyme x 9; have a look at the
Morgellons symptoms.
With my wife and I, now recovered from
Lyme and Morgellons, some of our first symptoms
were itchy/crawling sensations on the scalp,
and the silk moving across the face is a great
description of my earliest symptom. (At least
we attribute these symptoms to Morgellons and
not Lyme disease.)
Early reports indicate that over 90% of
those with Morgellons are Lyme positive; it
would be interesting to know what percentage
of Lyme folks develop Morgellons.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

Me? I'm planning to grow my pinky nail as long as possible then file it to a point so I can really get at that darn itch. Wouldn't dare stick a q-tip in there.

BTW Swimmer's ear doesn't have anything to do with LYME but remedies for it such as STAR-OTIC help to keep the ear dry and free of moisture.

Carol in MD

PS my kitty cat loves the ear wax I pull out! TMI I know, just couldn't resist. Life is just too absurd sometimes, why not let it all hang out? [dizzy]

I have that from time to time. NOT 24/7, but fairly often at times. Kind of bugs me.

Right now, not happening. Not sure what it is.

Have only had it for a few months. Just try to scratch them when it happens. Other times feels like hair on the ears, tickling, but I feel, and non there.
