I did a search and didn't come up with anything here. (in case Tony checks [Wink] [lol] )

I was at the chiropractor's today and was talking to him about the Artemisinin and the way I've been cycling on it. While we were talking he said the thing to flush out parasitic die-off is Black Radish.

Has anybody else heard this or tried it?

I'm not necessarily going to try it, especially wihtout my doctor's ok, and am not advocating anyone else does either. Just curious.

These are 2 of the links I found googling:

I knew this herb was recommended for liver/gallbladder function, but had never done much research on it. Anything that stimulates bile flow will act as a mild laxative.

You could try eating regular garden radishes -- some can be very hot. Would work in a similar way.

Thanks Bea,
I thought it was certainly interesting as I'd never heard of it.

I may ask the LLMD about it to get his take, since now I'm curious.

I've had someone (not a doctor) suggest spanish black radish to me for liver detoxing while on high doses of oral abx.

But I didn't take it as I was concerned it might interfere with my body's absorbtion/strength of the oral abx.

White radish, red radish, black radish - radish of almost any type is one of the best organ detoxers. It's one of the oldest standby's in Europe. I even bring my seeds over from Germany, because somehow there seem to be only a limited variety available in this country. Many different soft drinks, but hardly a radish.

We consume at least a couple of pounds of radish during the week. I have never cooked mine like the Oriental people do. I just grade them into a salad (in the blender), add a little salt and oil, often not even vinegar. With a piece of homebaked bread of several different grains and seeds (no kneeding necessary), and a spread of fresh butter --- there is not much that is better and healthier.

For me, real food always beats a capsule or tablet of processed foods that have lost much of their nutrient value. Try it, your organs will like it!

Take care.

Thank you Tabby and Gigi,
I'm glad to know someone else had heard this.

I'll go look for some radishes and try and incorporate them into my diet. I'm not a big radish fan but they sound good with a little salt and oil on bread and butter.

I also would rather get my nitriuents from the real food if i can swing it.

Thank you both for your input.
