I can't help but wonder why, after 4 months, the tick bite site still is raised and itches as if I was bitten today.

It may sound silly but is it possible that bacteria are still being released sub dermally from an embedded tic head?

Something is still cookin under there. You'd think 400mg a day of doxy would chill it out.

Anybody ever confirm that the site is rendered meaningless 4 months after being bitten?

I would think that you need a dr to check that out.Perhaps lance it to determine what is happening..

If you're a big guy, you MAY need more doxy than that.

My tick bite still popped up and was itchy 6 YEARS after my original bite(I left the tick head in there 6 years ago, not realizing my life would turn to much years later) I got some antibiotic cream from my doctor... rubbed it on... but the inflamations just slowed down.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME, but:

I got so fed up 45 days ago about the inflamtion(thinking that bacteria was still making me sick) I poked and poked at it with a steak knife, and kept rubbing antibiotic cream on it for days(No more inflamations, 6 weeks later... hopefully it does not flair up again, as I am making a wonderful recovery).

Thanks...

Still perplexed. If a bite still itches 4 months or 6 years later, something has to be happening within the bite.

Perhaps dealing with the bite site directly ie: abx injections or something...granted the Bb is already doing it dance in the bloodstream and eleswhere..

But what if the bite was a mini punping station or egg house for Bb..maybe destroying it would help out..
