my eyes are red and my pee is stinky
what am I?

if you guessed a sick m-f your guess is
very close.

now my dry eyes are from the meds, zoloft,
trazadone, and trileptal.
they hurt like h-ll but restasis is helping
a little.

anything else help. he told me not to use
RED OUT eye Drops because you eyes get
hooked on the medicine and withdrawl is
very hard, just like Afrin nose spray.

now my urine??? don't have a clue.
drinking probably gallon and half a day of fluids.can't drink water but drink clear sugar
free favored water from Target.

my pee smells like an eighty year old that
forgot to change his pampers.

maybe i need to get some pampers.

prostate normal after psa of 10 and 3
seperate biopsies and 25 pieces.
i guess there is not much left.

peepee duck says flow and dipstick are ok.
have not been to see him for this
problem.

man, i've only been to three ducks this week
maybe i should fit the urologist in
also,its only wed.
and besides ,I just love when he checks my prostate(yeh right) what a great job huh lol

well any input or output will be greatly
ignored, but i appreciate the attention.

Meds ? Toxins ? Yeast ?
I'd suspect one of the three.

Yeah Dave...
the real professional eye ductor told me last year to use pure water type eye drops...

and the other thing...

Eat a bunch of asparagas....it won't cure the smell

but at least you'll know WHY it smells! LOL

Let me know when you figure the smelly pee out...I have the same thing and have no clue why. My sweat is stinky, too.

Heck, we need to form a smelly bodily fluids club! Actually, I'm a bit scared about it because I am pretty sure it ain't normal or good.

Hey,
Anyone ever wonder if the hurtin' eyes was from putting them in the vacinity of stinky urine?

my vote is that the strong smelling pee is from babs and you ought to stay on the bactrim and add artemisinin too....but then i'm no doctor just an experienced novice unlicensed practicioner with no credentials whatever...Charlie

Do you have really bad confusion and brain fog and incoordination to go along with the stinky urine -- especially after eating a high protein meal? Also need to sleep much more than normal?

Hubby had all this and more when he had elevated blood ammonia. Was caused by an overgrowth of various bad G.I. bacteria such as Klebsiella.A yeast infection would be too easy -- hubby always has the weird presentations. It was a very long 5 months before we got this resolved.

Anyways, I also had that strange little symptom. I posted a while back but got no responses.

Mine did smell exactly like asparagus urine w/o the asparagus. It lasted for months and went away w/o reason. My LLMD also didn't know what it was.

good luck,

Love it! [Big Grin]

My husband recently told me his urine is smelly. He hasn't been checked for TBD's. Please tell me it's something else!

Well-i don't have the urine problem-

But my eyes are KILLING ME! I use "natural tears" which are the most similar tears to our own bodies-and I haven't had problems in a while-

lately (the last three weeks) my eyes and over all senses have been on HIGH! Every smell, noise, taste, and light is so intense. I wear sunglasses EVERYWHERE!

Smells linger on for days, and noises prevent me from sleeping. I have always had the sleeping problem though-but sleeping pills not seeming to help.

Tonight-though is the worst-My eyes are stinging, i can see but it's blurry, and don't even think about hitting the lights on!

I was on IV therapy for two months-stopped and ever since I have been on a downward spiral! It seems like I just keeping getting sicker everyday.

I am on 200mg doxy 2x's per day. Pro-biotics, valtrex (shingles, mono) and sinequin (sleep and pain).

I dunno-i am so sick that I don't even know if this even makes sense

Lindsay, have you ever been treated for Babs??

you might want to look into it.

The answer to your question about stinky urine is N-Acetyl Cysteine, if you don't believe me open a bottle of it and smell it yourself! It developed after I started taking it as part of Dr. B's vitamin protocol. I had to cut it out because I smelled like a skunk!

For me it started with the flagyl-my eyes have been dry for a while-but with Flagyl they ached, like behind the eye socket. of course my whole body ached, but my eyes especially.
I use Natural Tears.

well the mystery is solved for the moment.

today my eyes hurt so bad that i couldn't sleep
last night, so the the opthamolgist.
this guy trained in new york, in florida
and knows alot about lyme, BELIEVE IT NOT.
I GUESS "BELIEVE OR NOT" CAN GO ON ALBUM FIVE OR SIX, AND MY NEW BID IS 000000000000.000 SO THERE

doc said no infection, no yeast , but bad
inflamation.
i previously had all the symptoms of Sjorgren's
dry eyes, dry mouth, and little sweat.
tested neg for Sjorgren's but means nothing.

so doc has me on Restasis for increasing tears
and it was working very well.
now i have and major inflamation from what
nobody knows.
Hey another song"Nobdy knows the trouble i've seen, nobody knows my sorrow."

so the eyes are better this evening.

maybe i should use urine to clean out my eyes can't hurt.
you know the polution in west palm beach,fl
is so bad,how bad?
well we had our roof power washed ,tile roof
and 9 months later it was black again.

so where was i? sorry didn't sleep well last night.

now the urine.

i've narrowed it down to 3 possible things:
1) babs being treated for
2) systemic candidiasis top choice.
have multiple symptoms of yeast.
just starte don VFEND. also was on probiotics
3) either reactions of all the meds,
llmd used pocket PDr and found many cross reations.
Also many of the meds can cause tis smell, it started when i started biaxin xl so it
may be from this.

at least i can still play tennis, limp
alot, blurred vision, headaches, no sweat,
no knees or elbows, but that's life
with lyme.

sorry to babble but i'm finnally not nausea
from my eyes and the yeast.

Hi -- want to post about the mangosteen juice here for eye symptom allevation. I'm on eye support for it 24/7 now. Takes down the pain, blurry focus and light sensitivity.

I drink a little bit every 2-3 hours, also a lot of water with it since it's a detoxer. It's a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.

I drink the Ultra Mangosteen variety. There are lots of brands available.

Lyme triggers inflammation...major amounts for multiple reasons. Some is good, but too much ongoing is NOT.

Drugs like Humira will reduce TNF alpha and you will FEEL better. The side effects (potential) include TB and cancer. We must thus need TNF alpha in some way to fight those infections (I believe cancer is triggered initially by
infections).

Here is some old TNF alpha information. Some links may still work, others may not, but it all was a "cut and paste" from the internet:

Benefits of TNF alpha:

1. ``as more people are treated with TNF inhibitors over longer periods of time, tumor risk may become more pronounced.''
(May protect us from tumors.)

www.Hopkins-arthritis.som.jhmi.edu/edu/acr2003/ra-treatments.html

2. ``TNF-alpha is potentially an important mediator of protein wasting in chronically uremic patients.''

www.dscmt.univ.trieste.it/text/curriculum/containerbiblio.htm

3. ``one mechanism of action of TNF-alpha ...on thyroid FRTL-5 cells is to inhibit calcium entry.''

PMID: 10092616

4. ``is actually a potent modulator of neurotransmitter interaction.''
hdlighthouse.org/see/immune/tnf.htm

5. ``the body does use tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) to acutely fight infections. If patients
are showing any sign of infectious disease, drugs such as Enbrel (that inhibit the effects of TNF-alpha) are temporarily discontinued.''

www.lef.org/protocols/prtcl-128a.shtml

6. ``After noticing that exposure to the naturally occurring compound TNF-alpha (Tumor Necrosis
Factor-alpha) killed malfunctioning immune cells...''

www.diabetesincontrol.com/issue166/item1.shtml

7. ``generally the level of TNF increases with aging. Lactic acid and unsaturated fats and hypoxia
stimulate increased formation of TNF. Estrogen increases production of nitric oxide systemically, and nitric oxide can stimulate TNF formation. When oxygen and the correct nutrients are available, the hypermetabolism produced by TNF could be reparative (K. Fukushima, et al., 1999), rather than destructive.''

http://www.ferlowbrothers.com/estrogen_osteoporosis.htm
(Original website would not link. Above website says the same.)

8. ``TNF-a is a molecule responsible for activating and proliferating cells of the immune system as
well as protecting the body from abnormal cell growth.''
(same source as #7)

9. ``Activity of TNF-a is associated with inflammation, cytotoxicity (destruction of abnormal cells)
antiviral activity, and the proliferation of immune cells.''
(same source as #7)

10. ``modulate cell proliferation and cellular calcium homeostasis.''

http://www.cell-research.com/991/991-syf1.html

(If you go to the above website, please note the mention of spingolipid metabolites and keep this in mind: syhingomyelinase is Mg dependent)

PMID: 9195931

11. ``the level of TNF-alpha directly or indirectly regulates the production of borreliacidal antibody''

PMID: 12522038

12. ``The increased bone resorption may be due to an increase in TNF-alpha''

PMID: 14704297

13. ``no detrimental effects on normal neurons and can protect neurons when present in neuronal cultures during in vitro ischaemia...Once TNF's removed, neuroprotection is lost.''

www.anri.uwa.edu.au/teams/teamcvdl/cvdl.htm

14. ``TNF- a also causes production of sphingosine which can directly block the release of calcium
from the sarcoplasmic reticulum and therefore depress cardiac contraction.''

www.saem.org/download/01kline.pdf

15. ``suppression of insulin action in the liver resulting from TNF-alpha mediated suppression of
tyrosine phosphorylation''
Gastroenterology 2004; 126: 840-848,917-919
(Keep in mind insulin ACTIVATES PFK which Bb is dependent on.)

16. ``Total elimination of the TNF-a cytokine apparently creates a less hostile immune environment...Although `Chronic-lyme' is a lympopenic disease, chronic lyme patients do not usually form sarcoid granuloma. Borrelia burgdorferi appears to be a pathogen with insufficient lympopenic activity to proliferate sarcoid granulomas on its own. However, together with other pathogens, it is frequently found as a component of sarcoid inflammation.''

www.joimr.org/phorum/read.php?f=2&I=38&t=38

17. ``the level of TNF-alpha directly or indirectly regulates the production of borreliacidal antibody''

PMID: 12522038

18. ``Polymerase chain reaction analysis indicated a protection rate of 95% in mice receiving tumor
necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha.''

PMID: 8537658

19. These results are in line with previous experiments using cells of the adaptive immune response, indicating that strong T helper type 1 (Th1) proinflammatory responses might be associated with a
successful resolution
of Lyme disease.

PMID: 15958074

What is the underlying CAUSE of the increase in TNF-alpha?

1. "CONCLUSIONS: These data demonstrate a relationship between angiotensin II and intracellular magnesium and calcium. In hypertension, angiotensin II-stimulated calcium responses may be related to simultaneously decreased intracellular magnesium concentrations."

PMID: 8390527
It appears:

(1)Mg ++ charge levels low -> increase in Ca ++ charge (not good) -> stimulates TNF alpha -> angiotensin II)

2. ``In severely Mg deficient rodents, it was found that there were greatly increased plasma concentrations of inflammatory cytokines.''

www.mgwater.com/clmd.shtml

3. ``Severe Mg deficiency changed mineral homeostasis, induced membrane damage, increased lipid peroxidation and cytokine concentrations and reduced immunocompetence.''

PMID: 9558736

4. ``During the progression of Mg deficiency in a rodent model, we have observed dramatic increases in serum level of inflammatory cytokines.''

PMID: 1384353

5. ``Bone loss induced by dietary magnesium reduction to 10% of the nutrient requirements in rats is associated with increased release of supstance P and tumor necrosis factor-alpha.''

J Nutr. 2004 Jan;134(1): 79-85

6. ``Visual defects are common in surviving preterm infants. Increased levels of harmful neurochemical mediators that have been reported in these conditions include oxygen free radicals, excitatory amino acids, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) and in thromboxane A2 (TXA2) which are aggravated in magnesium deficiency and may be ameliorated by magnesium.''

http://www.barttersite.com/mgpreemies.htm

(Ameliorated means to make better, improve.)

7. ``An increased production of nitric oxide and of various inflammatory peptides - such as substance P, CGRP, and VIP - is observed in Mg-deficient rats.''

http://www.mgwater.com/dur30.shtml

8. ``Magnesium (Mg) plays an essential role in fundamental cellular reactions and the importance of the immuno-inflammatory processes in the pathology of Mg deficiency...A significant increase in TNF alpha plasma level was observed in Mg-deficient rats compared to rats fed the control diet.''

PMID: 9989243

9. ``Patients with multiple EM lesions had greater symptom scores and higher serum levels of IFN-alpha, TNF-alpha and IL2 than patients with solitary EM.

PMID: 12928420

10. ``Magnesium deficiency resulted in upregulation of the immune system via TNF-alpha.

Another stinky-pee possibility is if you are on a very low-carb diet (as many of us are for yeast) -- the body can go into a state of ketosis, meaning it is burning fat instead of carbs for energy. Ketones are a by-product of fat metabolism, and are excreted in the urine.

This is not a bad thing per se (it is not the same as ketoacidosis, which *is* bad.) Whenever I do low-carb ( I used it for weight loss in the past, now am doing it for yeast control) my pee gets *really* stinky.

You can buy test strips for ketosis at most drug stores if you are curious (you pee on them, and the presence of ketones in the urine makes them turn purple) . Look in the diet section, or ask a pharmacist about them.

Generally if you are in ketosis, you will also have bad breath, at least at first.

I'm not God. I have no idea of your time of death.

This disease triggers a LOT, I repeat, a LOT of inflammation.

Some is good and protective, too much is very harmful. The eyes are very sensitive to all this inflammation and thus can be damaged...permanently.

My sis almost lost her eyesight. At one point all she could see was the big "E" on the eyechart. She was really scared. She had uveitis. (The uvea is the layer of the eye between the sclera and the retina. It was very inflammed.)

Lyme disease VERY RARELY (!) results in blindness, but it CAN. Dry eyes were her 1st symptom.

She HAD to resort to steroid shots in her eyes to stop the damage. Obviously since systemic steroids got her into this mess in the first place, she was really reluctant.

But they worked!!! She can now see again though she has a LITTLE permanent damage.

She went to a uveitis specialist in a big city.

NO to Viagra...not now!!! IMO...far too risky...eye-wise.

Suggestions.. (from my experience)
Avoid all diet foods and drinks. Aspertame will cause urinary problems... Aspertame will cause the prostrate to swell. Avoid all artificial sweetners.

Make sure you get the urine checked for proteins.
Google urine protein for info.. This can cause kidneys to shut down....

If there is no problems with kidneys:

Make sure you are getting animal fats in your diet.
Baked or broiled chicken is very good. No fried unless fried in peanut or coconut oils. (good for nerves and immune system)...

Veggies oils contain lots of transfats that are very bad for immune system and heart....

Do not take statin (anti cholesterol)drugs. They will damage the liver and kidneys..

good luck....

Yes, my urine has just STARTED to smell, and this began right after a few sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Maybe it's the toxins from die-off or yeast related. When I don't do the hbot (on the weekends), my urine doesn't smell. Strange!
