I read on another board that it was a good idea to take quality B supplements while on flagyl.If this is true what is a good one to consume?Thanks RG

I've read this also, and my LLMD agrees, and wrote an Rx for b-12 injections daily. I also have an oral supplement (sorry, can't think of brand, but someone else may have a good suggestion).
The injections have definitely helped with my general neuropathy symptoms, though I have an increase when I pulse flagyl. Maybe it would be worse without the shots - I'm not sure.

All the Bs work TOGETHER, but B6 looks specifically "in concert with" Mg.
We need air, water, sunlight (and darkness), minerals, vitamins, and amino acids (protein building blocks)...all in the right amts., in the right balance, at the right times to be healthy. How our bodies constantly help to regulate all of this is absolutely amazing.

Alcohol/ethanol. All spirochetes ferment sugar to ethanol. Flagyl BLOCKS the liver from breaking down alcohol BECAUSE...alcohol alters lipids. (Likely) the belief is...alter Bb's outer cell wall lipids...and stop the body's massive response. Perhaps.
Flagyl + additional alcohol can -> alcohol poisoning and lots of brain cells die.
When college kids drink way too much booze and end up in hospitals, this is a life-threatening situation. We try to support the body and hope the young person can recover, but we can't halt (counter) the ethanol poisoning. Which means we don't (yet) know how to duplicate the enzyme that breaks it down in the liver. Men typically make more of this enzyme than women.

B-12 is supposed to help the nervous system.
Flagyl can cause neuropathy without alcohol. But you can't drink on Flagyl because you'll likely end up in the hospital, even with less than one drink. They actually give Flagyl to recovering alcoholics because if you drink on Flagyl, you'll never want to drink again.
