im on my second round of abx (month of oct- took doxy 600mg & amox 4000mg)..took 3 weeks off...and now on second round only 200mg of doxy a day..

i had major neuro symptoms plus physical symptoms..

and now sometime i can feel head pressure, which has been pretty much continuous on and off with varing degrees of intensity..

but sometimes, esp. lately, like tonite, i can feel my pulse in my legs and in my neck ..etc..

is this a herx? something i should feel worried about...i also feel anxious and shaky when this happens because i had severe heart symptoms during and before the first month of abx..

any advice?? opinions?? anyone experience the feeling of their pulse exacerbated in their body??

thanks in advance..
hope

I have had this and other symptoms for a year. They came on two years into treatment, perhaps coinciding with Bartonella treatment.

I've had a couple of opinions from LLMDs - Bart or neurotoxins.

It's been terrible. I empathize because I can't continue on Bart meds yet and I'm stuck with this. And I don't know if its Bart or that I'm now toxic.

I rarely herx so I can't say whether it's a herx. I suppose anything can be.

I don't have heart issues so I don't presume to tell you that it's not the heart.

I too had this early on. I could feel my pulse in my toes, finger and back of head - always only at night, usually while laying in bed. For me, it typically was my blood pressure spiking. Your body is beat by the end of the day and by then, if you have bp issues, is when it will be higher.

Do you have a bp cuff at home to monitor yourself? It might be worth investing in on. I got a great one from amazon.com by Mabis for $25 - I brought it to my LLMD's office and had my bp checked with the monitor and by a nurse on their cuff/stethascope and it was accurate.

I had a lot of heart stuff crop up when herxing (fast pulse, high bp) - maybe you're going through this now also.

Either way, I'd bring it to your dr's attention and get it checked out. I've been on a beta blocker 3 years now to keep my pressure in line.

i thought it was my blood pressure but whenever i go to the doc, they say my blood pressure is normal..my gp doc(cant afford a llmd right now) says that all this is steming from childhood issues and that with one month of abx it was knocked( the lyme that is)..

i had heart issues last oct with treatment that put my in the ER several times, but when i got there my bp was always back to normal..go figure..

i have an irregualr heart beat because of lyme now..
im only 22 so they say its all in my head, theres no way i could have heart problems..even with lyme on paper and pos blood work done.

I have had this problem with my pulse for almost 2 years now. It pounds in my ears and makes it feel as if my whole body is jumping with each heartbeat.

My blood pressure is on the low side (typically 80s/50s). I don't understand how there is enough pressure there for me to feel my pulse like that!

I remember this starting when I tried to wean off Klonopin. I've noticed that the problem isn't quite as noticeable since I've been on Rocephin, so the antibiotics seem to be having a positive effect for me.
