Ok, so maybe this should be in General...

But it's 2 years without antibiotics for me today!!!! And I feel fantastic - better than ever! [Big Grin]

I still take toa free Cat's Claw for maintenance, tons of vitamins and minerals, Theralac (a miracle worker) and Flexeril at bedtime. Wish I could get off of it but still not able to.

I continue to give myself IM Magnesium shots, although weaning down to every 10 days now (from weekly). My magnesium levels are in the lower end of normal range (from scary low levels). Recent hormone testing has shown significant increase in my Progesterone levels, so I guess the balancing act is beginning to work.

I use the Podi Patches one week a month, although not much comes out of them any more and they're very light in color - another good sign..

Haven't had my CD57 rechecked because.... well because the last test a year ago got me very bummed despite my good health (I was a 1/19 absolute)..

Not bragging here - just looking to share some good news and let the newer people know there IS light at the end of the tunnel. [Smile]

You are an inspiration - thank you, I needed some hopeful news today.

Now you'll need to change your Screen Name because you don't sound like you're that bad place anymore!

Thank you Jill. I reserve the right to keep my screen name... just in case! (knock on wood, and all of that stuff).

Julie!!!!!!!!!

Boy, it that awesome news...and really hopeful!

You were one of the first people on this board to reach out to me, and I've always been grateful for your help and your guidance. So you've always held a special place for me.

I'm certainly not where you are, but I've made progress of my own. I've been working on-site as a corporate consultant for the past month, and today, they mentioned the possibility of having me come on full time.

This time last year, that wouldn't have even been a remote possibility, so just the fact that it might happen feels like a flat-out miracle.

I'm still on 3 antibiotics and herxing like crazy when I try to pulse rifampin. But it's all manageable and so much better than this time last year.

I take the small steps and continue to be grateful for them. And I take a LOT of heart from stories of others' successes. I'm so happy for you and so glad you shared yours!

Continued good health and recovery!

Andie

HIP HIP HOORAY FOR JULIE! Way to go girl! I'm so happy for you knowing we've been on around the same time.

Add your link here to SUCCESS STORIES in general too; a must to share GOOD NEWS! [group hug] [kiss]

Being newly diagnosed (on Monday) and starting abx then, I already started herxing yesterday.

Nothing overly scarey other than I first thought I was getting a flu until other things started hitting.

Basically though, just this "little herx" had me fearing the horror stories I've been reading and yes, I know they are coming and can't be avoided.

But to hear that someone was able to get past the worst of this definitely gives hope. Something we all need desperately.

Thank you for sharing your story.

Cathy

Congratulations ~ its good to hear that the detox foot pads actually turn lighter. I've been on them for over a year now.

Mine started to lighten up a bit and then I bought the KMT24 microcurrent machine and they are ever so dark again! So the machine sure is working.

Cathy ~ since you've just started, be SURE and detox as much as possible. There are a lot of good threads on here about detoxing when you are herxing.

It will cut down on your herxing misery a lot!
GiGi lists some good products for detoxing and says to switch them around when using them.

Also, one of my my best ways to detox is my steam/sauna tent with an oxygen generator and ozone pumped into the tent. It cut my herxing down in less than half.

Great to hear Julie, but I have a question
Do you have the DR 4 gene [confused]
I think that makes a difference in who recovers better than others
Thanks

Wow...thank you KarateLady!!!!!
I've been having a rough first week and remember before the dignosis about detoxing but here I sit, not remembering anything I read.

When talking about a sauna to my LLMD, he said "it's too soon for that", so I have wondered what I was suppose to be doing.

Right now, I just feel so full and feel perhap even now I should be doing something.

Suppose to call the LLMD tomorrow with first weeks report. Should put that on my list, but will go searching as well.

Thanks for the reminder. My mind and memory are gone. [Frown]

I honestly don't know if I have the DR4 gene. I requested a full immune panel from my allergist/immunologist after showing him the results of my numerous Sticker Panels (CD8/57).

I shall quote his response: "While these tests are extremely well below the norm, they are only one very tiny part of your overall immune health. However, upon examining you now and even comparing you to where you were before (he saw me for almost a year before my LLMD did), I see absolutely no reason for further testing. You show no symptomology - if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Words to live by...

BTW - tdid - the easiest thing you can do to help detox is Milk Thistle. Lots of it, but away from your antibiotics. Please check with your doctor to be sure nothing you are taking conflicts with it (such as some Babesia meds). And TONS of bottled water. Be well!

You should also know that I was undiagnosed for over ten years. What brought me to a screeching halt was a rebite and picking up Bartonella. I only spent 9 months on antibiotics and still got my life back.

Hi Julie,

So glad to hear you are doing so great. You helped me back in the early part of the year when my daughter was so nauseous. The ginger oil you recommended for the nausea really helped. We went through many, many bottles. We all wish you continued good health and keep in touch.

No more Dover Township!! I see.
Sincerely,
Your neighbor to the west.
