Hi Leo-

Sorry to hear you are dealing with this.

I guess it is a good thing that you are herxing-
but no fun at all!

Have you been diagnosed with co-infections?

Char

Hi leogrl54,

I'm so sorry you are sick, but glad you have a diagnosis.

I herx off everything too, Vit C, herbs, fish oil and abx. I have a wonderful LLMD who let me take it slow with abx and slowly I have gotten better.

I had to do alot of detoxing with herbs/detox teas etc. I hope this herx passes soon for you.

hang in there.

Yeah I know what you mean I was told to take this or that and then felt terrible... [Eek!]

So, for me I detoxed with things that made me feel better not worse. So, when I tried to take fish oil for example, and I felt worse, I stopped it and tried again at a different dosage or tried again later.

I did this with everything and slowly added things in..very slowly one new thing at a time. I wanted to fee better and not worse.

Here is Tincup's tea recipe..this helped me, maybe it will help you too.

Tincup's Tea Recipe:

1. Mix a batch of herb tea (not as strong as pills and extracts). Mix one recipe
one day, the other recipe the next time, and alternate between the two. Then
add the liquid extracts listed below.

Recipe 1
Use the following tea bags:
4 green tea bags (decaf)- antioxidant, detoxifiers, blood cleansers, energy
booster. Contains chlorophyll, minerals, and enzymes.
2 organic peppermint- stomach settling, enhances digestion,. Use for chills,
cholic, diarrhea, headaches, nausea, spasms, and poor appetite.

2 Dandelion- reduces swelling and fluid buildup. Cleans blood and liver and
used as a diuretic. Reduces serum cholesterol and uric acid. Improves
kidney, pancreas, spleen and stomach functions. Useful for abscesses, boils,
breast tumors, and hepatitis.

2 Red Clover - good for weakened immune systems. Acts as a natural
antibiotic, blood purifier, and relaxant. Good for skin diseases, liver
disorders, and kidney problems.
2 Pau d'arco- contains a natural antibacterial agent. It cleanses the blood
and is good for candidasis and all types of infection.

Recipe 2
4 Green tea (decaf)- antioxidant, detoxifiers, blood cleansers, energy booster.
Contains chlorophyll, minerals, and enzymes.
2 Red raspberry leaf- Relaxes uterine and intestinal spasms. Promotes
healthy nails, bones, teeth, and skin. Decreases menstrual bleeding.

Directions:
Boil a few cups of water. Remove from heat. Add tea bags from one of the
above recipes and let steep about 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and cool.
Add fresh water to make one gallon. Add 3-4 packs sweet and low, or sugar/
sweetener, honey, natural sweeteners, to taste.
Add:
5 drops (Herbs Etc.) whole seed Milk Thistle extract and

5 drops (Innovative Natural Products) Liquid Germanium
Drink as warm tea or on ice. You should drink the gallon of herbal tea
within 2 days and keep the unused portion refrigerated.

MILK THISTLE- Contains some of the most potent liver protecting
substances known. Acts as an anti-oxidant to protect the liver, stimulates the
production of new liver cells and prevents the formation of damaging
leukotrienes. Assists in protecting the kidneys, good for adrenal disorders
and inflammatory bowel disorders.
GERMANIUM- Improves cellular oxygenation. Documented study shows
improvement for rheumatoid arthritis, food allergies, elevated cholesterol,
candidiasis, and chronic viral infections.

Hi and Welcome leogrl,

Seems I either herx off everyting or my body forgot how to detox. I think it's the latter. (I used to be able to take regular doses of meds but not for quite a few years now.)

I herxed off emergenC and also from an epsom salt bath. [Roll Eyes]

I also don't know how to help it. I hope you don't mind me following your thread and maybe picking up something useful.

125 mg of oral Zith every few days is about the speed I can tolerate but only for a month or 2 then I get too toxic and wind up stoping.

So far all that I've been able to do that helps at all is decaf green tea. (Very scientific [Wink] but seems to make me pee out a lot of the inflammation. ^shrugs^)

Drinking lots of water and or lemon water (I sometimes drink distilled for a couple of days).

(I read this on a site and can't remember who's but thank you, whoever you are because it did help.)
Straight lemon, or lime, juice drunk through a straw so it doesn't take the enamel off your teeth (or brush immediately after) seems to lessen to herxy-acheys and overall herxiness. It did give me heartburn for a while but was worth it.

I hope you're able to find methods of detox that will work for you. And the herx abates soon. Hang in there and back off as you need to, ok?

[group hug]

Blah, blah, blah, no medical experience... just an ultra sensitive TBD patient.

Thank you Beverly for posting that you're this way too and for TC's recipes. [Smile]

Hi leogrl,

If treating Chlamydia Pneumonaie is in your future, you might want to check out www.cpnhelp.org. There are many helpful folks treating with a very effective protocol. Might be something to show your doc.

Hi

I'm new too, from PA/DE. I live on the border, DE doesn't have sales tax, so I'm usually IN Delaware. Got bit in Huntington Co. PA, about 4 hrs. west of Phila. That was 19 yrs ago. I've never gotten treatment. I will start IV doxy next week. I am so nervous about the herx I keep reading about. Nineteen years without any substantial antibiotics, how sick am I going to get? I can barely function now. Neuro + pain is #1 right now. Has anyone heard of Limu? Google Original Limu. I haven't bought any yet, but it sounds good. I know there are lots of people using natural remedies which I truly believe in. But its hard to separate what actually works. I am freaking about starting my IV especially right b4 Christmas. But I've waited 19 yrs. I don't want to wait ONE MORE DAY. I have to wait until next week because of Insurance Issues. I had to do oral doxy for 1 month, before IV doxy would be okayed. The oral made me throw up daily. I called my dr. after 2 weeks. He said to stop taking it. That I only needed it prescribed to start showing the ins. co. that I can't stomach oral doxy. If anyone has any feedback on Original Limu, please let me know. Money is precious to me now and I don t'want to blow it on some crap on the internet. But it sounded so good. I would appreciate any feed back.

i am always amazed at people who have been sick for many yrs. my 3 yrs sounds like a baby amount of time. what i have learned is, you can never tell what is going to cause a herx.

keep your doc informed.

my doc has what they call"nuisance flares"-meaning if you can get thru it, keep taking your meds. i have had to stop when the herxing was over the top. every one is different

Welcome leogrl54

Ditto-keep your doctor informed about your herxing and how you are feeling. You may have a high gern load right now and if the herxing gets too severe he can ramp you up maybe a littl more lsowingect..

I was in treatment for 3 years and did herx on just about every abx I took. The detox tea recipe beverly posted is awesome and I still use after my rife session and it does help. Also what true said about drinking tons of lemon water helps me too.

What ever breaks a sweat can help detox too. warm bath or some light excercises if you are up to either. Just be careful not to get the water to hot.

Good luck to you in your treatments. I can take a long time but in the end for me it was all worth it.

If you type in the word detox in the search box you will get a mountain of very good information on this topic.

feel better soon [group hug]
Dana

none of the above is medical advice just my personal opinion

Hey trueblue,

You are very welcome, and you hang in there too. I am very sensitive, at least that is what my LLMD call's it..but I kinda like the way you said it "My body forgot how to detox" that sounds about right.

So for me..doing the things that really helped my liver was best for me. The lemon water you suggested was all I could do at times.

I didn't think anyone else got sick from epsom salt baths, but I did, so you are not alone. The first time I took one I thought I was gonna itch myself to death and swore I would never do it again! [Eek!]

I sure hope you feel better also.

Oooo-Oooo, I think I know! [Wink]

Some of us are heat intolerant *trueblue raises her hand* but not everyone is.

The only other caution I can think of is the possibilty of getting too dehydrated and/or light-headed and weak (I'm not sure if that's from a drop in BP or not).

Hot enough to sweat is probably just right. It's probably a good idea to drink a bunch while you're in there.

Ha, I may have found my twin in Beverly. Sorry, the sensitivity thing stinks.

Actually, I didn't get the itchies from the epsom salts (I get that from my own perspiration [Roll Eyes] ). The epsom salts, the first time, made me ache and twitch really bad for a day or so. Good thing I only used about 1/4 of the recommended amount.

I tried it once since without that happening but neither does it make me feel any better.

Trina,
I don't know anything about Limu but I do hope the IV works great for you.

I've never had IV Doxy but other IV meds were actually much easier for me to handle than orals.

(As you can see above I am neither normal or typical, then again.) [Big Grin]

I hope we all feel better soon. Ready, set, go...
