Oh my. I cant believe he gave you steroids after you specifically said NO. What if you had been allergic to something, told them and he gave it to you anyhow?

Hi Annie,
If you can possibly find a hyperbaric center that would give you at least a few treatments. you would benefit by killing the spirochetes and you would also reduce the inflamation...
Just a thought
Best regards,
Julia

So sorry they did not heed your instructions.
Ducks can be very slow.
Sadly, you have to repeat things to them many, many times over and over to make sure they got it. Like, to all the doctors, to the nurses, to the anesthesiologist. Over and over, even as you're going under, 'Now remember, no steroids, right?'
Otherwise, they'll forget.
One wonders how some of them made it through med school.
But then again, look at how many of them apparently can't even read, or comprehend the numerous studies documenting the persistence of the lyme bacteria in the body?
So is it any wonder they can't remember a simple instruction?
Hope you are feeling better soon.

Michelle is so right.
When I was pregnant with my second child, I was using the only OBGYN in town and it was 6 doctors. They did not let you see just one, you had to see all 6. What a disaster.
At the beginning of the pregnancy I told them I wanted my tubes tied. I had to have a c-section and would already be open so good time to tie the knot.
Toward the end of the pregnancy I brought it back up and the doctor of the day looked very surprised and quickly searched my file finding nothing about it.
How cute would that have been if I had just assumed the job was done?
Drs are only normal people with medical training. They still have to deal with all the same limitations the rest of us do like forgetfulness, tight schedules, stress, etc. Too often we lay our whole life in their hands and just assume they have all the answers.

I would definitely ask a copy for my medical file, see what was given to you exactly and if there was any note written for no steroids.
If this is a place you will go back to again, make sure they write it very clearly on your chart, in a place they will always look. If necessary, ask them to write it as an allergy.
I'm assuming it was a steroid shot? If so, the shots are localized and aren't as bad as oral.
