i've been prescribed so much crap that i can't take (like this lortab now) that i've a shoebox full of stuff.

it seems a real shame that i know there are people out there who can't afford meds and i'm throwing them away -- just down the drain...

sad, isn't it? but i guess i don't have any choice do i??

G i wouldnt toss them yet later on when your not so sick but still have pain try them again or ask the pharmacist if they can be cut down say in half?

I would hold onto them at least a year,Before disposal.

I'm sorry I'm being inappropriate.

But we could pool all our pretty, colorful pills and decorate a gingerbread house... We can use Mepron as the glue.

It's true, though, my meds have been changed and I have a few 1/2 finished bottles of some good medicines...

How about giving them to your dr? She/he may have a patient who can't afford prescriptions.

Definitely not legal.

Whatever you do, please do not flush them down the toilet. Meds that have been flushed down the toilet have been causing all kinds of problems with the animals living in the water we pollute with our drugs.

There are rumors that if your give them to your local support group leader they can be quietly recycled to the needy... just rumors I am sure*)!

Yes, please don't flush them! Many cities and counties have programs for disposing of meds safely.

PMs might help with this...there is a widely used board in which fertility drugs are sold; they are outrageously expensive and people's med regimens change, and this board works extremely well, though not quite legal....but MANY docs will recycle drugs to needy patients, legal or not. I am wondering if some PM'ing to others might connect some who have to pay for meds with those who have some. Maybe those in financial hardship could just post what meds they are in need of, without outrightly asking for help....

I didn't realize that it might not be legal, but my LLMD does missionary work out of this country.

I gave him my whole bottle of minocycline as I could not take that. I thought I might be helping someone else out.

Great. Now the Rx police are going to be coming to get me.....

I learn something new here every day.
