Has anyone been advised to take Samento a couple of weeks prior to taking a Western Blot similar to taking an antibiotic prior in hopes of getting a more clear test result? Thanks

Yes. Tested positive (WB Igenex) for Lyme in fall 2005 after 3 tick attachments throughout summer. 90 days doxy from LLMD. Retest neg, 1:20 on the Babs titer; Samento regime - no reaction - retest neg. for Babs, but Lyme positive by Igenex standard.

Am currently asymtomatic.

No, because I had Bowen testing, not Igenex, but I can tell you that stopping Samento, after taking it for three years, produced the same kind of dramatic rebound increase in Lyme sx that people report when they try to stop their ABX. So, it makes sense to me that it would work for testing purposes.

I'm bumping this up for Kauaigoddess- does anyone else have a similar story to tell?

By the way, I had a friend who consistently tested negative for Lyme while having all the symptoms, and eventually got a positive WB after several years of treating with Chinese herbs and accupuncture (they don't really have to know what's wrong with you to stimulate your immune system or whatever they're targeting). She hadn't done any antibiotics during that time = they didn't even suspect Lyme because of the original several negative tests.
