I have not been tested for coinfections. Do people recommend this get done, if so, by which lab?

I am no expert on this subject, but have learned something recently through my own experience. You should read the newbie links to get more info.

If you were bitten in CT, you certainly should be tested for co-infections. Get a good llmd and ask them.

I just received a strong positive result for Babesia from Quest. But a negative test result does not mean that you are not exposed, since there are many false negatives (few babesia species tested for).

But if you were bitten in CT, then you may have been exposed to what I understand to be the type of Babesia that labs tend to test for, B. microti.
That is the dominant Babesia species in this area.

Babesia is of course not the only co-infection; I believe that a thorough llmd would test you for bartonella also.

good luck and let us know what you find!
