Hi Everyone, a newbie here. Wanted to know if anyone has experienced asthma like symptoms? Then a chronic dry cough. A little scary and got worse after I took antibiotics. Thanks for the info

I was tested for asthma before we knew I had Lyme. All tests came out negative. I get shortness of breath, air hunger and have hyperventilated. I believe it's due to babesia.

Im so confused about this, I suffer from air hunger. Ive actually passed out at work from not being able to breathe. (Even though on the ambulance my oxygen % was 98.

But I continue to test negative for babesia. I know the tests arent always right, but is there anything else that could cause air hunger? Any other co-infection?

I also have Bartonella and Erlichiosis.

Hi Cathy

Babs (Basbesa) causes Air Hunger--
it is one of the most connom symptoms
of Babs along with night sweats -

Babs -co infection needs to be treated
perty much at the same time as Lyme if
you have both-

most folks that have babs also have lyme--

Hope this helps--Jay--

Lisa, babesia is a clinical diagnosis. They only search for certain strains of babesia, so the others don't show up on the tests.

My tests came out negative, too, but my LLMD is treating me for it because of the air hunger and night sweats.

You might want to investigate mycoplasma infections. the ABX MAY have knocked out on of the other problems opening a window of opertunity for mycoplasma to become dominant. There are a few mycoplasma varieties that manifest as cough like symptoms and often you need a specific combination to effectively deal with it.

Just a suggestion....

Babs tends to cause air hunger and BOTH Anaplasmosis (formerly Ehrlichiosis) and Babs can cause asthma like symptoms and lung problems!!!

Ehrlichiosis: findings on chest radiographs in three pediatric patients.

Fordham LA, Chung CJ, Specter BB, Merten DF, Ingram DL. Department of Radiology, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill USA.

OBJECTIVES: Ehrlichiosis is a newly recognized tick-borne infection affecting both children and adults. The disease is usually mild, with flulike symptoms, but can be fatal. We present the chest radiographs and, in one case, the chest CT scan of all recognized pediatric cases of ehrlichiosis to date from our institution. CONCLUSION: Ehrlichiosis should be included in the differential diagnosis of acutely ill pediatric patients with a history of possible tick exposure and radiographic patterns of interstitial prominence, alveolar opacities, or consolidation that may be associated with pleural effusion.

Looks like babesia. Mine were strong while babesia was strong. There are dozens of posts on air hunger, just do a search. A common, but scary symptom.

When my babesia was finished though, it felt like my lungs still got a bit of problem. It was a favorite place for herxes, I felt like a pressure there for some time after lyme killers.

My naturopath believes it's related to heavy metal poisoning. Other lyme sufferers report herxes on the lungs too (pressure, light air hunger). So for me, strong air hunger were babesia symtpoms, but light air hunger or only chest pressure weren't.

Now the lung symptoms seem to have definitively gone away.

You'll find more if you do a search.
