I know this sounds kind of gross, but forgive me... I am trying to understand what is going on.
I have had a dark brown discharge coming from my left breast for over 4 yrs. When I noticed this I went to my Dr., he sent me for a baseline mamo.
Nothing showed up, he sent me for a CAT and nothing other than a slightly odd shaped pituitary gland showed up (he was looking for a tumor). He said he couldn't figure it out, but that I seemed okay medically.
Four years latter, I'm 40. New mamo, nothing there...still have dark discharge. Except now right breast is beginning to have small amounts of dark discharge.
I have never heard of this connected to Lyme. Has anyone else?

Ask for a breast ultrasound.

in regards to lyme ive read once or twice about inappropriate breast leakage. I have also heard from a couple of women in the CFS chatroom (who may or may not have lyme) who have it to.

i'm so sorry to read this. it brings back unpleasant memories of my late sister finding out she had breast cancer at age 32; NONE in family.
she 1st found a lump; clinic told her NOT to come in; she'd had a recent hysterectomy, and it was her body going thru it's cycle!
3-4 wks. later, her hipple started bleeding! this time they get her in that day! did a needle biopsy looking suspicious.
so scheduled surgery biopsy ... SURPRISE! they found 2 types of aggressive, different breast cancers present! this was 1st week in dec. so she waited until after xmas to have her brease removed.
she didn't want her young kids: daughter 2 and son 6 to remember mom being in hospital at xmas time having her brease removed every time they celebrated xmas!
she lost her breast, had both chemo/radiation, and then went 6.5 yrs. CANCER-FREE until it traveled from lymph node to her liver. we had her for another 2 yrs., 1 month, and 3 days. she died at age 41.
she did NOT have lyme disease that i know of.
sorry, when i read your note this came to mind, and i wanted to caution you and TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
brease cancer has been in our systems SEVERN YEARS before it first starts showing up.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU; check about a NEEDLE BIOPSY they can do in the office.

research prolactinoma. it is a pituitary tumor that causes breast leakage. I know someone who has this.
Get a second opinion from a breast specialist or an ultrasound to be sure.
See an endocrinologist to have your prolactin levels checked.
