Hi everyone,

I am still sick, and want to hear from others about my questions.

I have been treated for lyme and babesia, and want to know if... Ciprofloxacin would kill bartonella.

I was on Ciprofloxacin for 6 weeks 7 years ago for a suspected bacterial infection. I never got better from it, at all.

Is Levofloxacin and Rifampin, THE key drugs to use for Bartonella?

I mean, you take either the Levofloxacin, OR the Rifampin for bartonella.

I have many of Bartonella symptoms I would say. but the LLMD does not want to treat me for it now, said to retest it later.

Here are my symptoms now. I am on tetracyline and Tinidazole, now, I have been having a Gastritis problem I would say,. it is not candida,

I have also been having strong brain problems, and actually, to make this short, Dr Burrascanos guidlines, on the symptoms of bartonella, fit for me.

However, this may not be bartonella. Maybe ciprofloxacin would have treated it

I am back on lyme orals.

Bloody mess I am.

Still.

Hi Trish,

I am currently being treated with cipro for a possible bart infection. This medication has seemed to decrease my fevers, sweats and burning sensations.
I have also tried septra, ketek and levaquin to kick this infection. I think this bug is a lot harder to kill than the docs think.
Good luck

My daughter has been on zith and rifampin for bart. It really started to kick in when we got an infrared sauna and added vitamin D.

Since we got the bart knocked down, (not cured), we are tackling the babesia by replacing rifampin with mepron.

One thing we have not done, that most disagree with, we have not supplemented magnesium. The magnesium levels have been fine. I was told mag supports the bartonella by helping it to create a biofilm shield.

This is just our treatment process. Her ANA numbers are coming down, so something good is happening. The red streaks on the body are gone.

Trish.

Bart needs to be hit with at least 2 drugs at the same time. So even though Cipro can be effective against it, it won't do much by itself. You weren't on it for long enough anyways.

Chronic Bart Tx can take a really long time, up to a year or more. You can use many different combos for it. Zith + Rifampin are good, so are Levaquin + Zith or Doxy, Mino + Rifampin, Ketek + Cipro or Lev. Tx will take at least 4 months, maybe longer.

G. I. problem, palpitation and insomnia were three biggest problems of mine.

I improved on Doxy at 2X200mg daily, which really saved my life.

6 weeks of 2X2g of IV Rocephin did nothing for me.

So I suspected I had Babesia, and had on two rounds of 21 days of Mepron/Zith/Arte regimen, which didn't gave me any obvious improvement, only relapse, which was not a herx, I was sure.

The sole pains roamed back, suggesting that I had a relapse of Bart.

So I restarted Rifampin at 450mg daily, after 18 days switched to Levequin at 2X200mg, previously was 500mg daily.

I immediately improved: ear ringing from 7 to 2, sole pains from 5 to 2, sleeplessness from 6 to 4.

For me those symptoms are from Bart.

However, I still have heart pounding(5) at night.

I am not sure what cause this symptom. I am adding Doxy and see how it go.

To my experience, if something is effective, I'd feel better in a day or two.

Garlic juice gave me a big improvement of G.I symptom.

Thanks everyone,

I had no idea that ear ringing could be Bartonella. My ear ringing is very bad. I never had ear ringing starting lyme treatent

3 years ago. I thought it was lyme getting worse.

Has anyone else had ear ringing that was a Bartonella treatment, that went away with Bartonella antibiotics?

I also never had sore feet, like someone beat them with a bat in the AM. Never had GI Symptoms like now either.

Maybe it is bartonella, will see if can treat later.

thanks everyone,

Trish
