Hello all,

I am on a Ceftin and Tindamax protocall right now, and each time I take a Ceftin I start feeling awful like 30 minutes later.

The weird thing is it feels more herx-like than it does allergic or adverse reaction.

I start getting a headache about 30 minutes after I take it, then I get a bunch of neurological symptoms, twitching, pain, etc....then about 2 hours later the symptoms start to fade.

I then feel at my usual "lyme level" until I take Ceftin again, which repeats the cycle.

I'd say what I'm experiencing is a herx, but I thought those were more random and not directly related to when you're taking the med's. At least, that's how it's been for me in the past.

Does anyone have an explanation? Has this happened to you? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hey Skimpbiz,

I've been on Ceftin, Zithromax, and Tindamax for the past 8 days now and something similar is happening to me. My stomach gets mildly sick about and hour after taking the meds which is normal and expected on this much abx but about two to three hours later I am getting some weird and intense symtoms. Symptoms I've never had before or haven't had in a long time

Last Friday I got really really dizzy and laying down didn't help, actually made it worse. It felt like the bed spins as I remember them from the days many years ago when I was young and could drink. This lasted about 6 hours. Never had had this symptom before.

Saturday it was was really tired and swollen glands in throat. Sunday it was not being able to think straight or talk right. These have happened before

Today it was light headedness, weakness, a rapid heart beat, and just an overall awful feeling. Was sure I was dying this afternoon. Again the feeling was unlike anything I have felt before while fighting this Lyme.

Like your symptoms these only last a couple of hours and then fade; thank God. Tonight I have felt better than I have in months.

Again like you I don't think these things are an allergic reaction they feel more like a herx. But in the past the herx's have lasted much longer and been random. Not sure what it is but something is getting stirred up and hopefully killed off.

Let me know how it goes this week, if these things keep happening and I'll keep you posted too. Good luck

Patrick

Hey Crime..

Good to see you!!!

Crime is right.. this could be a leaky gut thing.

Also.. can you take your meds at night rather than day time? I do mine then so as not to feel so icky all day.

Just a thought.

If this is leaky gut or yeast, does that mean I can't take my meds any more?

If I can take my meds, what will help me? Thanks

I never found herxes to be "random"!!! Always was a pretty direct response to taking the abx. I herxed within an hour of my first abx pill for Lyme.

Just in case you have yeast already, it's best to get on the diet and stay on it as strictly as possible.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements.
[e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]
