Okay, I have had concerns for awhile that part of what has been complicating my gut issues have been parasites and bacteria. I was right. Here is my question. Anyone out there dealt with this, pm me if you don't want to broadcast it [Smile] .

I feel stuck because I have to stay away from the hardcore stuff (ie: prescription ,etc.) as I have a bear of a time with dieoff. Any recommendations for a natural remedy? Anyone used Black Walnut? Any help your willing to offer would be great. Thanks.

NutriWest TotalPara
Allergy Research Tricycline
Premiere Research Parastat
Biocidin

Lots of good options.

Salt/C is another option depending on whether or not they are worms. Great for worms.

Scott, Thank you SOOOO much! Your website is fantastic. What a gift for all of us. I feel like I have so much to go on now. You explain it clearly-better than any practitioner for me. Thanks again. I am a little concerned going after this with the leaky gut I'm working on healing but I think I will look into the ART.

Hi,

I've had great success getting rid of intestinal parasites with Clarkia, which is a tincture that has green black walnut hull, wormwood (also known artemisinin) and clove. When I did it a couple of years ago, I passed liver flukes and roundworm and who knows what else.

I'm actually in the middle of another parasite cleanse, this time using Paragone. I wanted to try something new because I wanted to get rid of anything that may have also become resistant to the Clarkia. Judging from the rumbly in my tumbly, it seems to be working.

At the end of this cleanse, as with the other one, I am going to do a liver flush. I have also had great success with these, and it really helps flush out the liver, gallbladder, and little wee parasite corpses.

I think parasite cleansing is an important part of ridding the body of various nasties and helping the liver and digestive system function without being crippled by infestation.

However, these kinds of cleanses can be quite taxing, so bear that in mind. They are hard to do when one already feels so crappy from the Lyme and co-infections. It's a bit of a rock vs. hard place situation; devil vs. deep blue sea, etc. etc.

It is very satisfying to get those guys out though, although after years of doing this I have come to realize that parasites have their place in the body's ecology, as crazy as that may sound. A lot of times they are there to help get rid of dead and dying tissue in the body, so I am not of the school of thought that they must be completely obliterated -- neccessarily.

Cheers,

Alison

Alison, Thanks a lot. What would I do without Lymenet! Like you said, rock and a hard place. My liver is working her buns off these days and lab tests show she needs a break. Agggghhhh. I have to figure out what to do. I think I have good info to make that decision now. I just can't help but wonder if some of these new symptoms are not so much the Lyme but the parasites. What a balancing act.

I used artemisinin and probiotics for about three months before my lyme diagnosis, and a subsequent stool study came back clean. It did make me feel very tired while taking it.

My naturopath says to eat a little butter every day to heal leaky gut. It made a big difference for me, and helped me clear a bad case of candida too. Weird, huh.

I'm currently doing the salt/C protocol. My advice would be to ramp up slowly if you do this. I got the flu badly all of a sudden when I started it at three tablets a day, but now I'm up to four and don't feel bad from it if I drink enough water.
