finally "failed" a nerve conduction test, but was o.k. on emg
so i have a dx of bilateral ulnar neuropathy (that is why my emails and postinngs look like the work of ee cummiings but not as poetic)
how does one tell if it is due to compression and a peripheral problem, or something systemic or something in the spinal cord
(especially when you have a systemic illness and something, a syrinx, in your spinal cord **#@)
this has been ongoing for me
anyone have the surgery, the ulnar transposition?
or what have you done?

Don't think this diagnosis tells you much.
I have had ulnar manifestations along with others that are associated with lyme caused muscle wasting. Don't really understand why weird dents should show up at elbows, knees, ankles along with the wasting in muscles above and below these joints. But it is happening. Don't know if this anything like your situation.
BTW, my emg and nerve conduction test results were abnormal.
So, if you have problems at another joint, are they going to have another fancy name for it, unrelated to ulnar diagnosis? Getting pretty skeptical about neuro diagnoses. Without any attached cause or treatment, what good are they?

yes i have had the transposition surgery from the best hand doctor in the county. twice a year apart.
i had and still do have no feeling in my arm. this is what disabled me prior to the lyme disease.
usually they don't work, from all my doc friends that had the surgery. the test for inflamation is to hold you r hand out facing you,feel for a groove under neath the arm at the elbow, it will be towards the body side. now have somebody tap on that area with figgers with elbow at 90degress and straight. if the last two fingers of the hand get numb then there is inflamation.
i personally would try cortisone shots in the elbow first.
mine was work related being an occupational hazzard for dentists. i also have bilateral but will suffer with the other side
