JENIFER AND/OR LOU, please make this a FEATURE IN MEDICAL again.

To those seeking LLMDs, lyme literate MDs:
******************************************

Please go to SUPPORT GROUPS, left-hand side column by state.
Click on the nearest group leader for advise. Read if they want emails or phone calls per THEIR request
Do NOT email; many are too sick to reply; thanks!

To all lymenetters, we are needing more help in getting answers to those SEEKINGS DRS. in that forum!

i was off the board for 2-3 weeks since my hip replacement surgery, and didn't come on here except to update you on my progress, etc.

so that left LYMETOO/TUTU very busy on getting names to those requesting them. we have other folks with the complete lists, but they either still work or too sick to answer.

In the last 2 days, i've answered 20-30 requests seeking LLMDs....way too much for this lady still recovering from hip replacement surgery plus sending my NEWBIES LINKS/ADVISE to 15-20 newbies PER DAY for last 2+ days! [dizzy]

WE NEED YOUR HELP! please take 5 minutes when you come onto the lymenet board, and go to the current posts to see if they were answered, and read those with 2 responses as many folks just show UP so these ARE answered!

Remember, if you think your LLMD is doing a GOOD job, recommend them to the newbie in YOUR STATE or who is considering going to an adjacent state! Word of mouth by experience is better than a list of names that i personally do not know anything about!

here's the info we need when you post in SEEKING DR. section:

now please tell us about yourself:
**********************************

is this for yourself or a child; what age?

how long have you or child been sick?

did you have an imbedded tick? a bulls-eye rash?

symptoms?

were you tested by any of these 3 diagnostic tick labs :

igenex in calif; md labs in nj; or stoneybrook in ny ... they are the best USA has!

please show all this in your NEW post in SEEKING DRS., and we will help you.

thank you very much for helping us all out.

remember, we'd like the STATE shown as well as the closest LARGEST city so we can check our lists to see if there are LLMDS there! BIG THANK YOU TO ALL

First-hand knowledge of the LLMD's is much better than what those of us with a "list" can tell people!!

tutu, you're absolutely right .... 1st hand EXERIENCE is always the best as well as those LIVING in the areas vs. us with lists of "UNKNOWNS". [Big Grin]

That's why I wish more people would take an active role in Seeking a Doctor.

I always tell newbies to find others from their area [here on Lymenet] and then PM them for info about doctors.

I think it's far better than my giving them names of drs I don't know much about.

i wish i could help, but how do i help when i do notknow the answers.
i know if a great one in PA..but so do many..besides that..i have had some horrible experiences in atlanta and ky and can only hope others are guided in the right direction.

do i just send people to local groups? is there a major list? i do not mean to ignore anyone new and desperate, but i am so unfamilar with capable LLMD's

peace,
kathy

tutu, 2 people volunteered to help w/our lists; so i recruited them promptly before they have a chance to change their minds! info sent to them!

kay and debbie, thanks for joining us in helping others. [group hug] [kiss] [group hug]

kathy, if you know of GOOD LLMDS in your area, and see someone posting for THAT AREA, please jump in and send them a PRIVATE MESSAGE with that info:

llmds name, address, phone no., and specialty if known.

as tutu stated above, they are names only to us since we do NOT know these folks personally, and i also do not know the locations of the cities within the states; california is great example, and i am NOT getting out a map to find where they are vs. what the lists say!

i have a life off lymenet and dear hubby keeps telling me to get off internet/board! trying to keep my wonderful caregiver happy whose outdone himself the last 5 wks. caring for me after my hip surgery!

Betty is right, kathy....just recommend YOUR dr if you feel he/she is doing a good job!

Offer help to the newbies looking for a dr! They will be forever grateful!

I received another offer of help. Thanks to "you know who!" [Wink]
