I got bruises like that-as if someone was poking me real hard. LLMD always took note-said it could be lyme related.

Me..last week. Two different days, two terribly itchy spots which quickly blossomed into beautiful large bruises....no longer on any abx..

Yes for me too! I know some are from itching too hard. Others just appear.

Could be caused by babs or possibly bart instead of Lyme.

Vitamin C may make you less likely to bruise.

I have bruised more easily since getting lyme, sometimes for no known reason. The capillaries or vessels seem more fragile.

If you are taking much extra vitamin C in supplements or even high-C foods, be sure not to suddenly stop it, it or you can create scurvy like symptoms (which include easily bruising, one sign of C deficiency).

I have found I bruise more easily even if I just eat a lot of "Smoothies" with fruit high in C, and then stop eating them suddenly. You have to gradually decrease high C doses, or your body abruptly thinks you have a deficiency and reacts accordingly. I knew that from personal experience, but also had an MD recently confirm that. I found it particularly true if using any supplements unusually high in C (3000mg+), even before I had lyme.

Are you on any treatments right now??? I got "old" looking bruises (yellowish) after one dose of Doryx. Was told it was a bad reaction and needed to stop taking it.

Also, do they hurt like a bruise?
When I had Deep Vein Thrombosis, it initially showed up as a large group of bruises on my thigh.

OMG..........(gosh)! in the process of finding all of these bruises i looked up bed sores and seen pictures of early stage and late stage and so i started investigating further and i have 2 bedsores.. i know the bruises are not that but they are suspicious of lyme to me.. well i am very disappointed in finding these sores. i am in powerchair and i do find myself in the bed alot so maybe also the bruises are a blood thing...? i am on 25mg beta blocker for POTS..(the reason i am in bed so much)
I just am so upset right now because i feel if it isn't one thing it's another...........
[Frown]
my goodness i am only 31 and WHAT BED SORES [rant]

so sorry i had to get that out.. i'm calling pcp so that these things don't get worse because did u know superman (reeve) a bed sore was the cause of his last breath..... they can be life threatening [Eek!]

i just love you guys it is so nice to have this place to talk to ones who understand and are so supportive even if we don't make sense [dizzy]

Topical arnica does seem to be somewhat helpful for hubby.

YES!!! I periodically get spontaneous bruises and it's very disturbing.

Right now I have bruises on my L breast, L thigh and R arm. None are from trauma -- they just show up. I have Lyme, babesia (diagnosed clinically) and Ehrlichia. I suspect they're from babesia but I don't know for sure.

Thanks for posting the picture. It helps to know others with TBD have this problem, too.
