I have never been told that I talk loud.

I have been told, where I live, with family, that I talk loud, when I am talking to them.

I have never been told this, and because of the ringing in my ears, I think my hearing must be worse, possibly that is why I talk loud?

I dont want to talk loud, I know when some talk to me and they talk loud, it does me in,

I was on quinine, for babesia, and I also was on Minocycline and this caused ear ringing.

I may need a hearing test. Could one of these infections be causing my hearing to be worse?

My ear ringing is actually worse from Rifampin.
I am not only talking loud, I am becoming worse, my memory is worse, I cannot recall words I want to say, or places I want to say.
My writing is worse, I feel like I have the mentality of an 11 year old, last week it was 15, now I am 11.

I am on Rifampin now, I hope to get my intelligence back, and all else, if it comes back.

Hi Health,

I have the ear ringing too, and I was also told I talk loudly. It has gotten a little bit better with treatment, but I know how frustrating it can be.

Lyme can effect your hearing, but so can medications like zithromax and aspirin. I don't know if Rifampin can do this also? I would ask your LLMD if it can. Maybe you are herxing from it?
When I herxed, sometimes it would effect my ears. I also had terrible brain fog and mental confusion.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

hubby tells me i talk loud when i'm next to his one good 50% hearing ear with HEARING AID IN.

our city provides FREE hearing test consultations reguarly; does yours? i'd have it checkd out. [Wink]

It can't hurt to get a hearing test.

Pure tone audiometry is a good screening test.

Hopefully, if they find a hearing loss it will be temporary and will go away with treatment.

I also have had problems with ringing in the ears, caused, I am assuming by the Lyme, because I am not yet receiving treatment, but I have not been told that I am talking loud.

Though I would imagine that could happen if your not hearing yourself talk as well as you used to..

My pcp did however send me to have a hearing test done, as well as have some tests for the ringing, the feeling of fullness and also to rule my ears out as a cause of my being "off balance".

The hearing test did show that I had some minor hearing loss in my right ear, which mainly effects me trying to listen to someone talk, if there is alot of background noise.

I have noticed this alot when my b/f is trying to speak to me and we have the stereo going...

The other tests showed that I also had some fluid buildup behind my eardrum, though not enough to cause dizziness or being "off balance"...

But it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them checked.. It may be just from the meds or the Lyme itself...but it may NOT be either..
