I went to the screening of under our skin in Greenville on Sat. and learned that Dr. J is leaving us. Can't blame him but now what for us in the Carolinas? Just thought you all might want to know if you don't know already.
Take care

Hubby had a question.

Is Dr J just moving from NC or is he going to quit treating Lyme Patients or both?

OH NO!!

I'll be so disappointed, but I completely understand why he would.

My mother can't travel much farther than she already does to see him; and I'm afraid it'll be the end of the Lyme treatment road for her, if he goes. [Frown]

When it rains, it pours....(sigh)

Thanks for the information, Mimi. Does that mean there is now no LLMD in the Carolinas?

yep, I am really worried about all of us here in the carolinas and the surrounding states of people that are his patients. But I can't blame him I am afraid they willo keep going after all of our docs until there are none left. Very sad news.

That is exactly what they are doing, that is the intention of Dr. Death and his buddies, and they are doing very well in the campaign, with the govt health agencies to help them. This will pretty well end the chronic lyme disease epidemic. No doctors to treat us and we will be told we have post lyme disease syndrome, or CFS, MS, etc.

This is the end game.

Sad news for NC and surrounding area, but good news for the area he is moving to. At least we haven't lost him as a practitioner!

I just called Dr. J's clinic to find out for sure.

Right now he's just thinking about it. So, it's not a done deal yet.

But my thought is if he's thinking about it, then it's probably highly likely.

I mean how can he treat his Lyme patients with all of the limitations put on him?

I can never wrap my brain around the goal of the medical profession hounding the LLMDs. There is no question they are being targeted and hounded.

So many other illnesses get longterm abx treatment without anyone raising an eyebrow. If you want to talk about dangerous drugs that have a poor success ratio, lets talk chemo. I sure don't see science rushing to find a better solution there. Nor are doctors being hounded for using it.

People should have the right to choose their treatment!!!

I thought Dr J's hearing results would follow him from state to state. Is that not true? Any ideas where he is going?

fyi, i copied this thread and forwarded to my LYME LIST GROUP in various states so they would know the latest news as several of them go to dr j.

1 woman sent me a note back......

requesting a link like this should NOT BE FORWARDED TO OTHERS as we don't want the opposition to know what's going on. she was 1 of his patients.....IT WAS NOT A DONE DEAL.

Just my opinion, but I do not think it is a good idea to post things like this on Lymenet. This is a PUBLIC board and many on the other side read it daily to keep up with things like this. So if Dr. J is looking at a certain area, don't you all think that if the anti-Lyme crowd gets wind of it that they will send their bullies out to the local medical board to lobby?

Just please be careful. I have heard at least 5 different stories about where Dr. J is headed, which means there is lots of mis-information out there. When Dr. J is ready, he will announce their intentions.

ConnieMC I totally understand where you're coming from, but if the bullies want to find our Lyme doctors, they will.

All they have to do is contact this board or our support groups for referrals. They will find them just like we have found our LLMDs.

Dr. J's patients being informed of the possibility of him leaving gives them some time to make other arrangements for their treatment should his leaving actually become a reality.

Soleilpie, I am more concerned about Dr. J having difficulty getting a medical license in another state. If the bullies know where he is applying for a state medical license, they can send their henchmen out to keep him from being successful.

You are right, they can find him if they want to, but there is no reason for them to have advance notice so they can foil his plans before he even gets there.

As it is here in NC, he is not allowed to help anyone. And they have no intention of letting up on him if he stays here. I am worried that his history here will keep him from getting a medical license elsewhere, that is all. He needs a fair shake when applying in other states. Certain people could make trouble for him.

Connie,

Ah, I see where you're coming from now. You're right, that could be problematic for Dr. J.

I'm not sure what's involved in getting licensed in another state but I imagine they'll look at his history. I hope one "ding" on it won't hurt him.

If Dr. J relocates to a state that is much more aware of the two standards of care, then I think he'll fair better there.

Ultimately, I hope he stays put, but that's just me being completely selfish...

I heard that Dr. J was going to a more Lyme Literate area to be able to practice more freely. This was from a person who had talked to Dr. J himself. I was not told where he was planning on moving his practice only that he was moving.

It is a sad time for the NC Lyme patients that go to him and puts more pressures on the other LLMDs in the area. Some one else mentioned two others. I only know of one other.

From the NCLDF:

It really would be much better if everyone would stop talking about what DR. J is going to do as there are people listening.Let's just wait and see. And be sure.... we need to hear it from him.
Thanks
