My first symptom was hepatitis and at first I was positive for Hepatitis C but subsequent testing showed it was a false positive. Now I am positive for Lyme per CDC IgM. Wondering if this might be a false positive as well?

My Hep C test repeatedly reactive. I'm glad to hear yours is not.

How high was the viral load when they told you the HepC was positive?

I'm just curious because under a certain cut off would be considered having cleared the virus. But... I think you would still show positive.

Hmmm... absolutely no medical background, etc...
I never heard of anyone being false positive for Hep C, either, so what do I know.

I suppose retaking the WB in the future might give you an idea. I don't know. CDC positive is pretty strong.

Did you have a known bite? Are you symptomatic?

My ELISA screen was reactive but my viral load was absent and my RIBA was reactive to the HSOD antibody which is a control only since the HepC antibodies are made with the HSOD enzyme. THey say it's an autoimmune antibody found in autoimmune liver disease but all my autoimmune tests are negative.

Supposedly it's really rare.

Interestingly, for anyone who cares... a mutation in hsod causes Lou Gehrigs disease which begins with 'muscle twitching' which I have but also Lyme sufferers get.
