Anyone know what causes this?

What would cause an itchy bumpy (small bumps) after profuse sweating. It makes me itch but it mostly a problem at the back of my head in scalp. I get it other places but they are easier to wash off and less sensitive.

If I don't wash it off, immediately, I wake up wanting to rip my scalp off for a few days. It is most common on the back of my scalp up to a few inches above my hairline.

Is it from something coming out in the sweat? Too much salt burning me? Hair staying soaked for a while? Acid and/or toxins coming out in perspiration? No clue here...

It's not a yeasty rash, more like the prickly heat we got as kids only wetter and nasty. There are generally a bunch of tiny bumps the next day and a few larger ones feeling alomost like blisters or pimples that itch, big time.

I can do some stuff and dreanch through everything easily and am finding this really difficult to control. Ack, it's near impossible to get witch hazel or any lotion, etc, in the back of your hair, yucky.

Yes, I am babbling, sorry. Anyone know what this is and/or how to best handle it. (A quick shower is not always possible. I have resorted to just putting my head under the hose in times of desperation.)

Sorry, I couldn't condense this any better at this time of night; it's been a long sweaty day.

I'll try and make it into English in the morning.

Thanks for any input or suggestions. I'm baffled.

Dear True,

That sounds horrible. I know my sweat has changed since being ill.

Have you switched shampoo or conditioner lately?

Any new hair products?

Have you tried benadryl?

I get an itchy scalp when my yeast is bad,

However, don't recall a rash or bumps.

Maybe try a Tea Tree Oil shampoo....since it has antiseptic and antifungal properties in it.

I hope you get some relief soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

Hmmm... the forum is not notifying of new posts even though I have it checked. Anyway...

Hi Geneal [hi]

I've noticed this for the past few years. No change in shampoo, although, if I wash my hair right after perspiring it seems to neutralize it somewhat. I don't use any other product.

I do get itchies from my own sweat, elsewhere, but it's worst at the hairline in the back of my head. It seems the hair gets soaked and that's it.

The itchies bumps take a 2-3 days to heal.

No dandruff or flakes or anything. I may try a tea tree shampoo (just because) but think it has more to do with something coming out in my sweat.

Ack, try to do anything in S FL and not get drenched, hahahahaha, even inside.

I do get a rash on the back of my neck and lower hairline, anyway, and I know I've seen it before as a TBD thing. My only thought is the sweat triggers the rash. I can never see it because... well... it's behind me. [Wink]

I haven't tried an antihistamine so perhaps I should try that first. [Roll Eyes] (sure hate to go for the obvious first thing)

Thanks...

*scratches head*

I think it could be a sweat allergy - I just read in a German allergy forum about that. Quite a few people say they are allergic to their own sweat.

Thanks Gabrielle,
That's what I suspect as I've been allergic to my sweat before but still don't understand it. (and it wasn't in my hair! [Roll Eyes] )

I'll google somemore. Searches keep bringing up prickly heat but think this is a little different, maybe not.

Seems there must be a way to change what comes out in perspiration. I'm already trying to alkinize(sp?) but it hasn't helped so far.

Hi True,

Haven't posted for quite a long time because I have been in heavy detox. After finishing with antibiotics and starting on strong herbs along with salt/c (sea salt) these bumps started getting bigger on my scalp along with this sticky goo.

These are parasites pushing their way out from all the strong supplements trying to kill them. Along with this I have had parasites literally pouring out of me for a year. (I know, pretty yucky, but better out then in)

I believe the person from www.lymephotos.com is right on the money. Read what he says about the bumps at the back of the head (filarial worms) found in the ticks by burgdorfer.

I do not want to start a debate, only wishing to give hopefully helpful info. Antibiotics saved my life in the beginning, but they can't kill parasites and worms.

Try making a poultice of kefir mixed with extra probiotics for your scalp. It helps calm things down. Also I read Selsum Blue Shampoo is good.

Hope this helps.

I was also going to suggest parasites.

After I went off antibiotics, I had a microsporidium infection, and had to take Albenza, an anti-parasitic medication, frequently used for pinworms and many other lovelies. The results were startling!

My lungs, GI tract and brain cleared of the mircosporidium, and all kinds of other junk came though my skin for weeks. Fortunately I had to take the horrid medicine for a month, so when I was done, my skin was cleared out of all kinds of visitors.

I would try whatever advise others have for parasite elimination. I hope you are feeling better soon. It's too hot to feel uncomfortable! [confused]
