8 month into treatment and my name "Visual Afterimage Man" continues to be a good description of my condition. [dizzy]

My visual afterimages flare (I'm in the middle of one this week) and then reduce. But they have NEVER really left for good.

This was my inital symptoms that got me into see a doc in the first place.

My LLMD says that it's not uncommon for the first symptom that shows is the last to leave. Does this ring true for you guys?

I'm trying not to get too discouraged because when the afterimages finally do leave, I should be pretty close to recovery.

Please write back with your experiences. Thanks.

That is not my experience - in my first symptom to come being the last to leave - however, my last symptom to go is usually the first to come back when I have a flare up.

Doesn't exactly help you, but I thought it related to your topic.

Well, in my own treatment I have found that my first noticeable symptom was the first to leave.

Although, the second symptom, which was far worse than the first, is still lingering.

But, I have only been in treatment for 1 week - the result of which I owe a great amount to Lymenet. [Big Grin]

Well AVM, most of mine are still here.

The first ones, fatigue - it comes and goes but to much lesser degree and the joint pain - is here most days, it's worse w/ the more I do as in walking, working out, gardening ect. It takes about a day or two to recover.

Two years into aggressive oral abx and the headaches, vertigo and dizzy feeling is gone.

First to come was arthritis. It was not the last to leave. But it was the first to come back after reinfection! [Big Grin]

My only permanent symptom so far are chills, coming and going. I was a 'cold' person before lyme, so.... who know this is still lyme??

Fagigue came early, it took a long time to lift, as well as tinnitus.

This second reinfection, I got arthritis and night sweats almost immediately, both now gone. Now I have numbness left, that's about all.

I guess there's no single rule. Problematic points will take longer to heal and they vary from person to person, and what kind of infection. I do believe that when no permanent damage had occured, we get well 100%.

Wish you good luck on your treatment!

V.A.M., your LLMD is generally correct.

Known as the Second Law of Cure in homeopathy, Constantine Hering had the merit of formulating for the first time the law of the direction of symptoms [disappearing], i.e. :

From above downwards.
From within outwards.
From a more important organ to a less important one.
In the reverse order of their coming.

Very true for me, now about 10 months on treatment.

The first symptoms I had a couple years back have not left yet.

The symptoms that I developed later, the last to come, have been the first to leave with abx treatment.

Probably different for everyone -- for me it is undeniably true! I hope it does not reflect permanent damage in my case.
