Well I have been in treatment for over a year now and I'm not really sure what to make of it all.

I try and read as much as I can but get so confused with the MASS of information out there.

Here's an update for anyone out there who might see a pattern or have a similar situation.

I was bitten a year and a half ago (jan/06) but have had some weird symptoms for several years before that (started in 99).

I have had a LOT of tick bites. Pre bite: anxiety, IBS, feeling of being sick, bad hangovers, testicular pain.

After my '06 bite: joint pain, vision trouble, balance issues, and many more.

So moving on, the treatments that helped were Doxy, Azithromycin, Biaxin w/Clindamycin, and Amoxicillin.

All of these gave me an initial 1 to 2 week kerx with a cured feeling for a couple weeks then back to baseline over time.

Flagyl, Ceftin, and Rifampin all made me feel bad the entire time I was taking them, with no improvement upon stopping.

As of today, after 2 1/2 months of Amoxicillin and augmentin (6000mg daily) my main symptoms are a hard beating heart with HBP, hip, shoulder, hand and foot pain (mostly left sided), pink areas of my vision that come and go, and sweating (sleeping and awake) with a weird odor.

My brain fog, balance, fatigue, testicular pain and myalgia have improved dramatically though.

I have never been tested other than 2 negative Elisa's and am seeing Dr. C. who diagnosed me clinically.

I am thinking possibly Babs and lyme but just can't put all the pieces together.

I read on here ALL of the time, but rarely post because someone has usually said it before, but thought that I would post in case I am missing that miracle cure that someone has.

Thanks

BOB

Have you talked to DR. C about it?

Whichever ABX make you herx worse are usually the ones that will make you better over time. Ceftin didn't do a whole lot on me but Biaxin, Flagyl, and Zithromax bring the hammer down.

Co-infections also need to be looked at, you havn't treated for babesia yet, rifampin is for bartonella.

When you say you got worse on those certain ABX do you mean herx or getting worse?

I see him this Thursday and of course will fill him in. It's hard when you see a doctor every 4 months to get everything covered in a visit.

Even when I have written things down before and after, things get lost and forgotten.

To this day I still can't difinitively tell a herx from symptoms.

My symptoms flare and subside on a monthly basis. All I know really is some months I feel better than other months, so I take that as a positive reaction.

I have been in a treatment a year now also. I have made considerable progress during this

time, but it was not until babs treatment that I came out of the platuea I was is in. I would

look into co-infections if you are not getting better, or reached a point that your stuck.

Considering you have been bit by muliple ticks, you probably picked up more than lyme.

Show me Lyme,

My other post just got lost.

What I say to you is this...keep posting. Post often. Give updates. It helps me and others that are new to the problem get a grip of what's going on. I have had to diagnose myself and initiate treatment myself. I could only do this because of websites like this one, and posts from every one.

Please keep us up to date.

Be strong.
