Thanks in advance for your help:

I am currently taking Biaxin and Mepron (for months) and have recently added Roxithromycin.

Also one capsule three times a day of NAC (for liver cleanse).

The past 3 weeks have been really rough: return of back pain along with extreme weakness.

Which of these meds is likely to make me feel so BAD??

Also, I read the brochure that comes with Theralac, and it says one capsule every 3.5 days. When on antibiotics, take a capsule daily for two weeks. What should my dosage be if I am on antibiotics like FOREVER?

Any one of those abx's could be causing your herx....and back pain.

Since babs causes extreme fatigue, the mepron may be causing that. [herx]

I would take Theralac daily while on abx. You may have to take two from time to time if you have symptoms of yeast.

Maintain a good diet as well so you don't suffer ANOTHER problem!!

DIET, DIET, DIET is the key. Then, be sure to follow the 5 step plan outlined below. It was developed by my naturopath. It works.

Candida diet and elimination:

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

Hi DW,

I think all three of those abx can pack a punch. The roxi is supposed to have some pretty good brain penetration. Maybe it's just the whole combo.

Is the NAC 600mgs per capsule? Some people notice some die-off like results with it.

Interesting about the roxi---our llmd in ct just recommended it with Bactrim and says some patients are doing well on this combo. I think my husband is going to do a round of this after some mino/biaxin and plaquenil. Do you get yours from Freedom pharmacy?

Sorry---more questions than answers! [confused]

Thanks for your replies so far.

Yes, Sojourner. We must have the same LLMD. He advised me to find Roxi on my own, which I did (at Freedom) and brought it into his office on my next visit so he could advise me if it looked authentic.

He said it looked legit, and asked where I got it so that he could advise other patients! Apparently, that's what he did.
