Wanted to give a good report. My pain and difficulty walking that I thought was irreversable and entirely from torn cartilege, discs, and ligaments, was partially reversed in just a few days of teasel.

Also, my face and lips that were red and peeling constantly for years has been reversed by small amounts of smilax.

Susan - that's great!

Can you report how much of each you're taking? How many drops of teasel per day?

Andrew,

I'm believing more that I can get better.

Teasel: I bought a pound of powder to take while I make the tincture. I increased slowly so now I'm taking 2 caps with each meal. It's so much cheaper to buy bulk, and make capsules. $15 will buy a "capsule making machine".

Smilax I herxed MAJOR on 1 cap/meal, so I restabilized, then made capsules about 2/5ths full. First, I took one/day with food. Then I added a second with another meal. Yesterday, I added a third with dinner.

I'm delighted with herbs because they seem to work and don't cost alot of money and don't seem to be toxic.

Just in case I want to look into it. How do you find your resource? How do you know what to take and how much?

I'm just amazed at the knowledge some of you have.

You're kidding! I never felt a thing from teasel. I bought it "ready made"...drops.

I took teasel and thought it did some good.
how do we really know if it works or not maybe it is something else we are taking.

We have a lot of knowledge, FIRST from Stephen H. Buhner's book, Healing Lyme, Naturally. SECOND from lots of experience taking the things he recommends, and maybe trying something else that did or didn't work. And THIRD from sharing all this info on groups like this one and the Buhner group.

You can get Buhners book, by looking to the left of this post and see the advertisement for amazon.com and order it right there. I did, back in early November 2005. The rest is history now.

You can buy The Capsule Machine from either StarWest Botanicals, or WonderLabs. I think 1st Chinese Herbs might have it now too, but not sure. Call and talk to Sarah, she is very helpful.

I get all my herbs from 1st Chinese now. They give free shipping on $40 or more, Sarah is very nice to work with, and they have it all at one place, so you don't have to search all over the country.

I buy WHOLE herbs in bulk for myself, either powdered or cut and sifted, depending on whether I want to encapsulate or make a tincture. It is the most pure, (no Fillers or preservatives in the brands I buy), and you save about 75 to 80% over readymades.

I make my capsules while watching the NASCAR races on weekends.

Susan - I'm with you on the part about the herbs don't seem to be toxic - So far I tolerate everything very well overall. No stomach probs, etc. Seems like they target what they are needed for, do that job, and all is well. I never tolerated abx well.

That said, I'm not doing much of the "killing of bugs" yet w/ the herbs, mostly builing immune sys which was in the crapper; and vit's & yeast, proboitics.

But already, I see much improvement:

I sleep better - not great - but better...I'm dreaming again - haven't dreamt in years.

My skin is better - no flaking, no boils - and I have good color.

My feet are warm instead of ice cold.

My constant chills are gone (that's a big 1)

Best of all - my legs after 8 yrs of twitching - fine now!

Long way to go , and I may be singing a different tune when I add more in, but happy so far.

Garden, WHAT herbs ARE you taking so far, and how much of each a day?

One thing we must all realize, IF we have late Lyme or Chronic Lyme, we are NOT going to get rid of it totally.

That being said, Buhner, himself says that he is not concerned on getting rid of all the Ketes, but rather to make them happy. IF THEY are happy, we will be happy.

They need to be controlled, just like all the other bugs that live inside of us for our whole lives, and the more so as we get older.

So building up your immune system is very good. Bringing the load of ketes down, will also be good. Then maintain.

We need to use the right herbs from ALL his extended protocols to treat the symptoms that each of us have as individuals.

The core protocol is a good start, but I find some of the other ones more important to me, for MY symptoms.

After you read enough posts on these different threads, you will see that some people have certain symptoms and others have other symptoms, that predominate.

I treat mainly for arthritis, asthma and vision problems. Others will treat for something totally different. Or combinations of some of mine, and others.

My daughter's skin (teenager) has finally responded to something -- reseveratrol and a progesterone supplement/gel. There is still a ways to go, but we are in the early stages of treating her with these new products.

In my teen's case, I think there is an added hormone component to be addressed. And as a side comment, our LLMD believes that progesterone drops in cases of lyme.
