I already posted this under "Is this a bartonella rash" or something like that.

Maybe, too narrow a question, but since no one has answered, I'm trying this since maybe it's not a bart rash?

They're like little pin pricks in an uneven line across my forearm. Bright red, but fading a little today. Stung when I took hydrogen peroxide bath.

Up close you could see they had popped like a pimple. Today, they're not quite as bright red.

Can Bart rashes come out when you're herxing? Or do you just get them at the beginning of an infection?

have been on ceftin and now doxy so couldn't have got it from cats I was taking care of right?

Have a horrible headache too, so not sure if I'm thinking straight and leaving something out.

Hi there. I don't know how much help I will be as I am questioning some of my rashes and spots.

I have some bumps like you describe on the top of my left foot they are raised red and they were kinda like pimples and a clear fluid came out of them. They were slightly itchy.

Don't know what they are. I test neg for bart.

maybe someone will shed some light on this- Melissa

Could it be Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever?

Are they lumpy like mosquito bites, or just a teeny red dot - like petechiae???

mine are raised

Petechiae don't fade. At least I'm pretty sure they don't.

Mine are itsy bitsy red dots (not raised). Just read yesterday that they're from Bartonella.

I always thought they were from Lyme. [Cool]

I had red dots on my toes at first. I took some pictures to show my LLMD. He said they were Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. They were gone by the time I visited him. He said this was because I had taken doxy and that takes care of it. I will try to attach a picture. Don't know if it will work and I know my feet look gross.

Leonard

Couldn't get it to work.

I just read about petechiae and I don't think that's what these are because I think I understand petechiae are smooth.

When I run my finger over these they're slightly raised so I can feel them.

They're still very red. I think they were just redder yesterday from the hydrogen peroxide in my bath water which made them sting. Otherwise they don't itch or bother me.

Wish I knew if they could be from a herx.

Hi Marz,

Some of my petechiae are ever so slightly raised. Actually, a lot of them are.

Petechiae are not specific to any particular condition--pretty much all of the most common TBI's can cause them.

my bumps in question are raised. I do have a few

Petechiae and they are flat- kinds like a red freckle. At least I think they are Petechiae lol.

Do you have a link to the article you read about these itsy bitsy red dots (petechiae) being bart?

I'm still negative, and I want Levaquin or Cipro. Maybe both with how I feel tonight. Either that or cyanide at this point. Not sure if I'm kidding. We can hope I guess.

I don't know if what you are talking about is petechiae, but they can be raised. I have at least seven or so all over my body (may be more, don't know). Most of mine are smooth (not raised), but I do have a few that are raised. So they *can* be raised.

But since you said they were fading, I don't think they could be petechiae. I didn't think petechiae could fade. The ones I have I think are pretty much permanent.

Petechiae may be smooth- or raised- some of mine are smooth- some are raised- they have never gone away since I got sick 10 years back-
and if I scrape one out/away with my nail they bleed- (eek!) and come back later-

Petechiae occur with MANY different infectious diseases but commonly with babs & Ehr & Lyme-!!!
Don't worry- they are not connected with any larger serious issues-!!!
Best wishes,
Sarah

My husband has red spots that look similar to a mole. He occasionally gets small dry patches on his arms, chest and back.

We first noticed the red spots in the summer of 1982. He did see a doctor that didn't think they were a problem. His LLMD has looked at them too and doesn't think they are problem.

Those pinprick sized dots, all in a crooked row now come out only after a hot bath or when I exercise and get warm. And there's a red line from the end of them that wraps around my arm that showed up recently.

Coincidentally I saw my LLMD today and she doubted it was Bart since Bart has unrelenting symptoms, of sore soles and I can't remember what else she said.

Also, because they kind of popped like little almost microscopic pimples a couple of days after they appeared, she said probably not bart.

She couldn't tell me what it is but wasn't concerned. And I'm not either.

My headache did get worse after they appeared, but was probably just a coincidence.

Oops, forgot this:

NatureLover, I didn't know babesia caused skin rashes, but I'm interested in the treatment you mentioned and will research.

I will be doing a urine test using test strips for babs which we talked about today.

Thanks for the info!

I'd rather do that than prescription if I test positive.

Cherry angiomas can be from Babesia.

Hi All

Babs causes small red bumps-
they are usually Ruff to the touch and cause
a Nerve reaction like this-

Scratch one on your arm and feel it somewhere
else on your body like your back ect--

They also Itch like Crazy --

I would get cluster of then on a joint
days before that joint would hurt Really Bad ==

After several months of good Babs treatment
the bumps went away--AAAhhh---Jay --

My husband gets those same red dots every time he starts antibiotics. It's almost a herx reaction for him. They then go away after a week or so....

i get these from herxing on doxy.

i also have some that are permanent from any of the TBDs, who knows. these are a little different than the ones that appear while herxing.

i do know from experience after treating lyme and babs that levaquin is the only thing helping the sever unremitting head pain and pressure

i will post more about this on a diff thread.

thanks

I have Bart and I don't have unrelenting symptoms of sore soles. I don't really have sore soles at all... I've only noticed sore soles a couple of times -- usually when I'm in the shower or when I exercise.

disturbedme, would you say your symptoms in general are unrelenting and what are they?

Did you have a test that confirmed you have it and which test was it?

No, even before I was being treated with abx and still hadn't found my wonderful LLMD, I sometimes would have a day or two in between the terrible days where I'd feel all right (not good, but all right). Like I've heard with Lyme, the symptoms would come and go, etc.

My LLMD and I never suspected Bart actually (my symptoms seem more like Babesia), but got a positive for Bart (and negative for the other co-infections) through Fry Labs. I think I may have Lyme disease as well especially if I don't have Babesia. Of course I've only gotten a negative WB, but that doesn't mean much.

And since treating Bart with Rifampin, I've been feeling sooooooo much better.

My positive for Bart:
