Sorry to keep posting stuff. I really feel like something is wrong today more than usual. I have severe joint and bone pain which I asked about on another post.

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=058896

But when I went to take a shower I noticed I had huge veins that I could see through and bulging out of my skin on my chest, neck, breasts, arms and abdomen.

I am the type of person who needs the IV team at the hospital to place an IV. Most of the veins are on my breasts and chest, I could easily place a 20g catheter in myself in these places with one hand.

What the heck? This may be TMI but ladies when your pregnant and your breasts get all veiny (is that a word) it was like that but worse and they were every everywhere. It looked like someone took a blue marker and drew all over me.

I took a shower and pain meds and a nap and it seems to have gone down. The only thing I can think of is maybe my blood pressure was high making these veins pop up? I usually have great blood pressure.

I just feel diferent today. I know I am not pregnant. It is like I feel like something is wrong or different.

any thoughts on this? I am feeling like I should check my self into a looney bin. I showed my hubby and he didn't think it was weird, although he said" I haven't seen you naked in so long..blah blah blah"! HAHAHA. poor guy

I really have no true answers for you exceptto say that I have had this happen to me & it goes away. At least the all over the body one's go away - my feet do it all the time. The veins in my ankles are huge if I'm standing. Not much help, I kno, just wanted to let you know that is does happen....Hopefully tomorrow it will be gone!

Same thing happened to me when I first got really sick. Doctor didn't know what it was. I had developed low blood pressure at that point. I don't know what caused the lovely blue veins to pop up everywhere. I have lots of fluid retention now so you can't see them as well.

I have these and have had them for awhile now. I think it is because your BP is up.

My BP was always 100/60 when I was healthy. Lately it has been - oh, I forget - 115/80. I may not be dead, but gee, I wouldn't dream of complaining about 'high BP' like I did last year with my 'systemic infection'.

Just the way science works today. You have to color by numbers for them. If you don't hit the magic number, you lose. Eventually you will, and then you'll still lose because your high BP will damage something crucial.

That same exact thing happens to me on a daily basis. I wish I knew the cause of it, but I don't. It is definitely not high blood pressure, though. I am having the opposite problem with that.
I have a blood pressure monitor here, and everytime I stand, my pressure plummets from 100/60 to around 60/40 and I feel faint. Also seems to be the same time that my veins start popping out, especially in my arms, hands, neck, and feet. It comes and goes throughout the day.
I was planing on asking my LLMD about it the next time I saw him...

I have it, too. I have low blood pressure but I think it's from Lyme. Who knows?

I have had this too. For me, it is NOT from high blood pressure, because mine runs VERY low all the time. Mine would always happen at night when I was sitting and relaxing. I would look down and from my elbows to fingertips the veins would be VERY LARGE and VERY BLUE. It finally happened one time when I was at the Lyme doc and he said he thought it was vasculitis. Had me tested, and I was negative.
This happened on and off for about 6 months and then went away.
Have no idea?????

My guess is it's from the low blood pressure, a result of dysautonomia, caused by Lyme. Do a search here and you will find a lot about it.

I have never had low blood pressure that was recorded. The veins seemed to go away a bit.

It seems like your veins should shrink up and collapse if your BP is low as you would not profuse as well.

Interesting.... please let me know if your LLMD says anything-

Thanks, Melissa

Hey all,

I have this problem, only in my legs and feet.

I never had this problem before lyme disease and co infections!

My blood pressure is normal ( about the only thing in my body that is!)

My opinon is maybe it's the lyme and co infections doing it???

Only thing I can think of. Since I never had it before.??

Best wishes to all,

blazinglyme
