I was wondering if what I was told was true or not. A vitamin shop employee told me. That they read that us Lyme suffers are losing alot of protein and that we need supplements to counter this.

Does anyone know if this is true or not?
Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of this.

I was losing protein in my urine. I also lost a great deal of muscle mass. In fact, I looked skeletal.

Have them test your anti-striatal muscle antibody. Mine was 'equivocal' (borderline), which means I'd developed antibodies to my own striatal muscle.

Just don't let them dx you with myasthenia gravis like they were hoping to do to me - myasthenia gravis is INFECTION.

True.

Bb's cell walls are lipoproteins.

Bb gets those lipoproteins (amino acids are the building blocks of protein) by triggering

gluconeogenesis.

This is the liver breaking down fats (which also contain amino acids) in order to supply the body with amino acids AND an ongoing supply of glycogen...

Now Bb has all the energy from glucose AND the amino acids it needs to build its cell walls...plural.

Bb can NOT grow in gelatin - just gelatin alone, which contains many amino acids except tryptophan. Gelatin is VERY high in glycine.

Problem...WE need those amino acids and glucose too!

ALL pathogens are "parasites"...they take from us nutrients WE need.

Bb takes a LOT of them...impacting our ability to fight.

Our antibodies, all of our defense molecules must have amino acids and glucose too!

Enzymes are proteins.

This is one very very complex and mean pathogen!
