I am exhausted and am going to log off the puter now.

I am scratching my head about something that is bugging me quite a lot tonight.

Do docs out there undertreat us and call us cured and refuse further and longer standing abx treatment out of more fear for us to create superbugs?? and us end up releasing those superbugs, whatever they may be/become out into the public??

I am not sure if I am making any sense here or not, though.

Basically speaking~ is the CDC worried about us ultimately becoming the hosts for abx resistant superbugs?? And could it be they are literally keeping us sick and trying to protect the population out there from bigger things??

I am trying to make sense out of all of this.

Thanks for the insight. I dont know if I am wayyy off target in my thinking or not. Or did I hit a bullseye here??

I've had the same thought. Don't know if it's partly true or maybe completely true.

In My Very Humble Opinion,

I believe Lyme is already a SuperBug!

If theories are correct, then Lyme has been around for a long, long time.

Possibly since 500 BC to 300 AD time frame.

If the CDC was so concerned about antibiotics and creating a superbug,

Why wouldn't they actively market against the addition of antibiotics to livestock diets and such?

Seems to me they pick on Lyme. Not TB, not MRSA's, etc.

There are many diseases at this time which are known to be vancomyacin resistent (strongest antibiotic known at this time).

To my knowledge, limited as it may be, Lyme isn't one of them........yet.

I think the CDC is more concerned that acknowledgement of Lyme as a Chronic Illness

Would create a financial quagmire for insurance companies which

Could go bankrupt and cause a "depression" in our lovely economy.

Plus then they'd (CDC) have to step up to the plate.

Oh my, I must be herxing. I am a wee bit cynical tonight. [Mad]

I guess my trust in the CDC is not that great as to think they are actually

Thinking of what is best for Chronic Lyme patients.

Hugs,

Geneal

What they are concerned about is 50 years of the overuse and abuse of antibiotics and the inevitable emergence of resitant bacteria.
In the last 25 years, lots of research has gone into drugs to treat HIV, but next to none on the development of new antibiotics. Also, because
the antibiotics don't deliver much profit to the drug companies, they haven't paid much attention to new one.
This MRSA bug killed more Americans than AIDS last year, so they have a real problem on their hands, especially in hospitals.

My daughter, her husband and one of her children (age 2) all have MRSA. You would NOT believe what she had to go thru to get the doctors to culture her and diagnose it correctly. She finally got her diagnosis about one week before they started reported MRSA deaths all over the news.
All the docs in North Carolina kept telling her it was this or that and nobody bothered to culture them until she insisted.
My daughter works at a day care and that is where she picked it up apparently.
She has worked in day care for 8 years and had to quit last week because of her and her child's health.
She is unfortunately REALLY getting a first hand view of the incompetence of most doctors and their arrogance.
If she had not INSISTED on cultures, I am sure she would still be suffering horribly.
At least now they are trying to treat her with the correct drugs. Not an easy thing to get rid of though. Not easy at all.

Hi All

Its not taking ABX for Long Enough that
causes the ABX resistant germs--

Not the other way around--

This is why Every ABX bottle says on it
to Finish ALL of the medicine-
even if you feel better--

Its the germs that are Not killed before
the ABX are stopped that become the First generation of ABX resistant germs -

Any organization or doctor that tells you different is full of BS or is lying to you-

--Jay--

Also 2/3 of the ABX made in the US are given to
farm animals - not because they are sick-
but to keep them from getting sick-

this is where the Majority of ABX resistance
problems get there start --

If superbugs were really their concern, then they'd

stop engineering them in their laboratories!
